Update Issue: A Short Tale

Today was a day like many others. I was in enjoying a little quickplay in my favourite game, Overwatch, when I was informed of an update. After my match was done I noticed I couldn’t invite people to group with me (a common occurrence when you are playing a different version of Overwatch to others). I closed the game and proceeded to start the update :upside_down_face: or at least I tried to. This happened approximately 6 hours ago and I am still unable to update.

Here was the issue:

-me: clicks update
-Bnet launcher: begins update
-Bnet launcher: “fetching build configuration”
-Bnet launcher: “we’re having a problem transferring data. Please check your internet connection just in case and try again.”
-Me: :pleading_face::sob::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::broken_heart:

The internet I am using is fine. I’ve clicked the link provided by the error message and tried every step. Yes, every step.

Nothing is working and I want to play my favourite game with my friends. Please help a sister out? People are trying to get me to play games I don’t enjoy like League of Legends and Apex :nauseated_face::face_vomiting:. Save me from this nightmare!

Edit: Why can Hearthstone update but not Overwatch!?!?!?:upside_down_face:

Maybe try options - - > repair…? And then update again? I dont know if that works, but you can give it a try

Thanks for trying. I tried to scan and repair the game 3 times already to no avail. Once the scan and repair is done, I click update and the same thing happens.

Hey Dooray.

If you are still having trouble with this now, delete the Battle.net Cache and Battle.net Files and try the update once more afterwards.

If that still does not help out, temporarily disable amy security apps and retest once more.
