First question: would this be considered a form a cheating?
Second question: do you also experience a severe frame drop? When using Visor you have to play ‘bordered windowed’, but the game then immediately drops in framerate and become very laggy. Have you also experienced something like that?
There are other programs which provide assistance like this. Nevertheless, they do it after you finish playing. Visor provides information in real time, where Overwatch is a game where the player should make the choices based on his or her experience, strategy, skills, situation and discussion with the team.
The difference between 500Hz and 1000Hz polling rate is negligible. And even if it was very noticable, it doesn’t pick up the slack where a skill is lacking. The difference between letting your supports get flanked all game and getting an in-game message telling you that they keep dying is massive. Situational awareness is a skill that you must learn. This software means you do not have to learn the skill.
While I understand you, hz difference is huge. On 500hz your mouse jitters much more than on 1000hz. And we haven’t even talked about 250 or 125. The difference is a headshot vs a bodyshot.
Also I don’t think that a software that tells me that my healer is dead would replace my awareness. A software cannot decide if you can win 4v6 or not. It doesn’t see the circumstances the way people do.
I’m all against cheats and such. I just don’t find this overly useful …or at all, let alone call it a cheat
Not between 500 and 1K it isn’t. Sure, 1K and 125 or 250 might be a lot more noticeable, but I’ve experienced both 500 and 1K and the difference isn’t very noticeable. Sure, there is a difference, but it isn’t game changing. A lot of that is the placebo of having a bigger number attached to your tech, making you feel more advanced.
Doesn’t it? No need to listen for audio queues, no need to check kill feed. No need to press Tab and see who is alive.
Given that the software was programmed by people, it will see a dead healer as a dead healer, same way we do. 4v6 = disadvantage. Always. Is it impossible to win a 4v6? No, it is not. Is it usually better to wait to regroup and not attempt it. Yes.
Maybe that’s just because you, personally, wouldn’t benefit from it. Doesn’t mean it’s not useful to anyone.

However, watching kill feed or watching a 3rd on screen display isn’t any different for me.
What we would need is in game party interface. To show teams hp and and ults.
Much like tab-but rather in a wow-like party frames.
Then we don’t need this software neither to watch kill feed.

Yeah, I always think of how useful it would be to see an information bar similar to the one in spectator mode. Obviously, just for your own team, of course.

Honestly, I’m used to glancing at the kill feed whenever I heard a death groan, so I know who died and who killed them since it tells me which team has the number advantage, and if your teammate dies, it gives and indication of his killer’s position, depending on the hero they are playing.

On all of them. But watching kill feed and tabbing isn’t ideal for me. Even though I can do it, not ideal. Sometimes I die because someone sneak up and I push tab at that moment or sth like this.
Wow party interface is a small window on the side(movable) where you see your partners head, healthpool, maybe ult% or ability CD. It’s just the way the game HAS to go. It doesn’t make the game less skilled at all. But less clutter than tabbing.
Let’s hope they implement it in another 2 years. Lol
Yeah, I agree one this. The reason I believe that this software gives an advantage because it’s an alert. In the heat of the moment, it’s easy to not look at stuff even if it’s right in front of you, like this display would be. But beaking immersion makes things easier to notice. Even with the display in front of you, keeping track of it while not losing focus on the game is a skill. But the system in the OP means you don’t have to do that.
All in all, I think that wow-style window is a good idea. Wouldn’t call it essential, but it would be a nice QoL change
Use common sense its giving you information that gives you an advantage which is cheating, don’t advertise cheats here.
There used be a custom hud for diablo 3 it gave information you should find on your own, for a long time they did nothing then they started banning players left and right for it, the fact a person could do this for you also is complete BS argument ai is always gonna be better at giving you information there also a reason why you dont see enemy ultimates having an app to do this for you is cheating.
Btw if they do not take action against users using this i am gonna uninstall and never come back last thing i want is players using this against me to gain advantage against me that they would not have without the app.
Going by your logic,wallhacks arent cheats either because you can still hear the enemy footsteps and predict their movement without directly seeing them.
Wallhack is not the same as an alert mate.

Most players have say’d its cheating only matter of time devs will say same thing and take action, don’t use it simple as that, you should do research instead and learn the basics yourself so you don’t need app like this.
