Voice being recorded while team chat is muted?

I have a question: So in Overwatch 2 voice chat may be recorded to help prevent toxic behaviour. What I’d like to know is if my mic’s audio is being recorded even when the in game voice chat is muted.

I make sure to always treat the players around me appropriately, but I’d hate to have action taken against me for something I said outside of voice chat.

Would appreciate having this cleared up.

They have no way of recording your mic.

As long as your microphone is muted, they have no idea what you’re saying.

They record their own voice channels, so if you talk on the ingame channels they will record.

Push to talk is a good option to enable so you can be sure they hear nothing.

No, it isn’t. If your mic is muted, you are fine.
