Depends.
She’s hard to aim right, most savvy players will be able to dodge her rockets. Splash damage was her best trait.
Guess Blizzard realized that too many easy to aim with heroes might be too much.
I find the faster fire rate makes it easier to hit enemies, you can judge shots based upon the last rocket and where they are being fired quicker there is less time, which means less distance for the enemy to have moved since your last shot.
I don’t know about that, they made fire rate quicker whilst reducing knock back, meaning the enemies are in more predictable locations after being hit. She’s more deadly now I think and less leading shots is needed.
As a Pharah main, this is definitely a nerf, unless you’re super accurate.
You can’t even reliably kill a bastion from around the corner, cause your rockets are now darts.
Although, i have seen a lot of Pharahs now just go indoors and spam rockets up close as if they were Junkrat.
Because the only flying character… now fights up close. Right…
She was one of the worst dps so no.
So was Hanzo at one point and torb, anything can happen with blizzard.
Corrected. You are welcome
Yes, its a nerf. If you play Pharah at proper distance, its REALLY hard to get direct hits. If you risk closing the gap to get direct hits, you die WAY more often.
What is insane accuracy?
I had 40% on her before the “nerf” which I’d say is pretty average and now, I find it easier.
The fact there is less knock back meaning enemies will be closer to your first impact kind of means your accuracy doesn’t need to be amazing, yes you need to be more accurate but at the same time multiple shots are easier and enemies have less time to escape.
Not trying to be rude but 40% is BS. Specially because you can get that by shooting at tanks.
Direct rockets are pointless unless you kill a target. Now you can blast someone to 80 with 2 semi decent rockets and then finish them, with that change you will need 4.
If the healer or tank is fast enough, you wont kill a target. Basically you need 2 straight rockets or the chances of you not getting the elim are high.
Just because you can shoot faster, it doesnt mean the rocket does actually fly faster … it doesnt.
PS: Insane accuracy is shooting shields and tanks and squishies and getting 60%+ of direct hits. Otherwise you are just splashing and your damage will get healed.
They have raised the skill ceiling and the skill floor at the same time,as its harder to deal damage with the reduced splash but her potential dps is higher because of the increased firing speed, they did this in order to make Pharah stronger in higher levels where the skill and aim of Pharah players is higher while kinda nerfing / not buffing the Pharah-Mercy combo that has been terrorizing both console players and lower skill level players where hitscan aim is not that good compared to projectile aim that has splash.
Becuase shooting from the skybox was fun?
Even the best pharahs rely on splash damage. in the overwatch league pharah play at a distance and spam rockets. You are basically asking players to play the character very differently by moving in close range and trying to land as many direct hits as she can. Pharah is not doomfit she does not have any survivability for any close range combat. Plus her cool downs are insanely long
Splash damage was a thing that made Phara very effective but at the same time incredibly frustrating to play against.
I have always enjoyed playing Phara, and whilst it’s quite a change in play style, it’s also a chance to differentiate the difference between an accurate Phara and a Phara who relied on splash damage to do their work for them.
Concussive Blast Cooldown reduced from 12 to 9 seconds
Self-knockback amount increased by 25%
Maybe these will help a tiny bit with survivability but not much.
Yes. A flying character actually flying and doing long range combat was fun.
In other news, Reaper’s shotguns actually fun up close and Doomfist’s punches being satisfying to land.
You can barely see anything from up there and you’re just spamming rockets, or were.
Now you can actually be involved in the fight and not just essentially be in spectator mode.

Long range combat is an actual thing. Next thing you’ll say that Widows have to get on point or that Rein should be more agressive and not just be in “spectator mode.”
I can’t see your profile, but you’re starting to sound like a Genji player.
It’s undoubtedly a buff but that’s beside the point.
It wasnt supposed to be about buffing or nerfing her it was about dealing with a specific issue with her whereby her supposed hardest counters were actually being countered by Pharah in most ranks other than the very top and particularly on console where it was a massive issue, bigger than any other op balance change the game has had since release. The change was seemingly brought in to fix that issue more so than nerfing or buff her yet the changes have probably made it even easier now for a Pharah to wreck a Mccree, Soldier or Ana.
Imo they should be making her jet pack boosters significantly louder and to add a smoke trail that lasts maybe 1-2 seconds maximum to aid people in tracking her. This doesn’t alter her significantly, in high ranks its going to have virutally zero impact as people are working as a team and know where their opponents are at all times but in lower ranks where team work and communication as well as awareness is very poor, it gives people a chance to at least duel her.
