But somehow Nanovisor gets overlooked?
Dragonblade makes Genji vulnerable to CC, Nanoboost or not.
Tac-visor means Soldier can stay out of range of enemies and most CC.
Nanoblade may do 180 damage per swing (added to the 75 dash damage), but Genji only gets four or so swings, and that’s if you don’t force him to use Deflect.
Nanovisor gives Soldier a stream of constant damage for 6 seconds that you can only avoid by getting behind cover or a shield. You can’t outrun it.
Nanoblade can be quickly countered by a Reinhardt Earthshatter and Charge (unless Genji has armour or shields from his team). He can also be knocked away from the enemy team with Whole Hog, Primal Rage or even a well-timed Lucio boop. If you make him waste his first dash and run, you’ve wasted his ult.
You can’t do that with Nanovisor unless you knock Soldier into the hole on Oasis University or a similar situation which forces him to reposition while the visor is still active. It’s harder than it looks to burst him down from a distance (especially since he’ll be bunny hopping; all Soldiers seem to do that while ulting) and diving on him is practically suicide (seeing as he’ll probably have his whole team behind him).
Maybe it’s because I’m so used to dealing with Nanoblades, but hearing a Tac-Visor getting Nano’d scares me a lot more than hearing Genji’s weeb stick get the boost.

I can understand why you think it’s OP, but it’s not.
First of all, lucio/zen/brig ults make his ult useless.
Second of all, just go hanzo and hit him 3 times with Storm Arrow.
Also, using TWO ultimates at once should be able to deal that much damage when other heroes can deal more damage than that with primary fire.

1: When I use Sound Barrier or Rally, Soldier still burns through enough of the shields/armour to get 1 kill by the time the aimbot/nano ends.
2: If I was confident enough in my aim to use Hanzo, I wouldn’t be playing as a support.
3: It’s not the damage that bothers me. It’s the fact that the only real counter is to get behind cover. If you’re not playing a shield tank and you’re caught in the open, you’re screwed.
Here is the deal, it really depends on what rank you’re at. Nanoblade is extremly difficult to counter if the Genji know how to avoid stuff. Rein shatter is rarely reliable as a counter.
Nanovisor needs a clear line of sight to do damage, with in a certain range to do 100% of the damage, and is very easy to predict movement and stun-lock to death.
Barrier, Defense Matrix, Trans.
Nano blade? Trans if you are lucky maybe? Solo Grav?

Nanoblade is burst damage - a single swing with 180 damage + a dash or some other spare damage is an instant kill.
Nanovisor deals 128-256 damage per second, depending on the distance. It can be shielded, matrixed, bubbled and dodged by using cover.
In other words, you get 47 shots from your tac visor, if you burst non-stop. The first 18 are eaten by the matrix, then we go either with
a) long range (damage falloff): 22 shots to get through 200 armor of D.Va (203 damge total). 7 bullets left for 100 more damage.
b) short range (no damage falloff): 9 shots to burn through D.Vas armor (211 damage), 20 bullets left for 570 extra damage. So if D.Va gets healed for 180 health in those 4 seconds, she’ll still be alive.
If you want to coordinate a bit, you let D.Va take 200 damage (9 shots = 1 second), then throw out the Matrix for 2 seconds, giving you 3 seconds of time for healing (90 from Zen or 150 from Mercy or 150 from amped Lucio or 225 from ana). After that, he has 22 more shots - again 9 for your armor, 13 more would be 370 damage, again with time for the same amount of healing. All this takes in terms of team work is for people to either take cover or hide behind D.Va., and we’re not even talking about how easy it is to counter if you have Rein or Orisa or even Winston.
Genji has the huge advantage of mobility, getting to the squishies, killing them before they can be healed up. And while it’s true that a Zarya bubble can take away a chunk of time from a Nanoblade, you really need Transcendence to properly counter. But Trans counters Nanovisor just as well.
Sound Barrier helps against Nanoblade, but it only buys you some time. Sound Barrier against Nanovisor helps a lot more.

That is two ultimates. Use two support ultimates in response, or again, use trans. If they anti you, get in cover for its duration. You’re not fighting a widowmaker, so you can actually leave cover when it’s finished. Or just try and coordinate and focus him down.
The only big difference between a nanoblade and a nanovisor, is when you do the first you are going to destroy the enemy team because genji is balanced, if you do the latter, congratz, you have wasted a nano boost.
Tac visor is so garbage nowadays, not as bad as mccree, but close enough.
And no is not only about his damage, his evasion, his mobility makes dragon blade broken, the damage is justified enough, shame he has all others tool completely usable during it, and why not, he can even deflect.
Soldier’s attack can be fairly easily blocked by barriers, nanoblade cannot.
Overwatch has two hard counters to genji which is brig and Moira. Moira can fade away after genji uses dash and beam him and brig can stun him making him easy to stun, sleep and other stupid stuff happen to him. Solder can keep distance and fire at such a fast rate with high damage, what Overwatch should be is make genjis swings faster when he’s nanoed making him more playable
Same applies to a d.va bomb.
Unless you have someone brave enough to try to reposition it.
A good soldier without visor will deal more dmg.
Also with nano.
A soldier free to do what he likes, and then getting nano-d is a follow error.
D.va right click gives you tons of time to find cover.
A winston ult in his face, will also make visor only attacking him.
I thought visor didn’t have damage dropoff
I’m pretty sure it is. Atleast from my experience, its a very noticable difference shooting someone at close range VS a widowmaker far away. According to the data, it’s just an addition to the normal pulse rifle, aka the fall off range is 30 - 55 meters
Four? Try again, and come back.
He gets like seven or so swings i think, idk i never even survive the whole blade duration because i can only ever bait out 100 of the 1000 stuns coming my way.
Hit GENJI with HANZO 3 times with STORM ARROWS when he can kill you in 0.5 seconds
This post makes my day
Nano clombos will never ever be OP again.
People learn’d how to abuse Rine, Zarya, Lucio, Brig and Zen as some cases like vs nano visor.
There is no point in to wasting 2 ults if the other team will stop you using only one…
