Hello there.
I have a really weird issue about FPS on overwatch for a while.
I have read all the FPS issue on Overwatch and applied all of the recommendations / fix.
Let me explain the issue.
My PC :
Workstation HP Z600 with a dual Xeon X5550, 16 GB of Ram in Dual Channel mode, GTX 1060 6GB, and Overwatch installed on a SSD (with 40 gb of free space), and using a 32" 144hz monitor.
The issue : whatever the video settings I have (Low - medium - high), InGame I have only between 85 and 120 fps, and the FPS value really goes from 90 to 110 all over the game.
As said, I have made of lot of investigations on this issue and tried many fix.
(Checking HPET - upgraded from Win7 to Win10 and OS updated / max perf on the power management - Nvidia drivers up to date - Nvidia control panel settings optimized for performances, reparing and reinstall of OW + battlenet …).
In game, I have no bottlenecks or overheat of any components (CPU, RAM or Disk).
(Checked with windows task manager and HWinfo)
At this moment, I don’t know what I can do more but I have a symptôm that I want to share with you, and maybe you will give me some advises.
The point is that in the ‘training room’ my FPS looks like to work as expected.
Video quality modifications - FPS cap works, I can reach like 200 FPS in low without issue. So I’m sure it’s not an Hardware issue of OS or Drivers.
InGame :
In the hero selection menu, before the game starts, looks like I have the FPS I should have regarding my FPS cap. (FPS cap around 155 to fit my 144hz monitor)
As soon as the game starts, in spawn room, I get between 85 and 110 FPS and it really goes with drops between theses values.
Let me know if someone has an idea?
At this point, I’m guessing that it could be a network issue between my PC and the OW server, but I should have the same behaviour InGame and in the training room? And btw I’m always playing with the FPS-Temp-Latency-Ping info and I never see drops or high value for network.
Thanks.
