But if I’m already by all intents and purposes “good”, which I am, and I see someone doing bad plays, then they shouldn’t be in my match at all, as they should be on par with how well I play if they are on my team. Likewise, the enemy team should also, and the matches should essentially be soooo close to who wins, that it’s basically down to the smallest amount of mistakes. Those games are by FAR the best games, and I don’t mind losing in those games at all. It’s PURE fun to have the most even matches ever, and the times this happen, there are few games that can compete for me in being the best game ever. The feeling is amazing. Focusing on getting good is something that should always be in the back of your mind when playing ranked anyways. ALWAYS strive to get better. But ofcourse it’s annoying as all hell whenever I get a player on my team that clearly isn’t pulling his weight. And I’m just saying that if they are not pulling their own weight, then why do they get put in my team? as if we are on the same “level”, when I carry my own weight, and very often pull off those smooth games where I just totally annihilate stuff. Letting those people know that they are ruining for everyone else might serve as a wake up call that they should play something else. That’s my point. And I shouldn’t just accept that they are bad, because if they are, then I’m either misplaced, or, they are. Either way, there is something that is not right. And naturally I’m gonna get annoyed and frustrated, because that’s MY sr and mmr getting lower because of someone elses mistakes. Such is the fate of a very team-heavy game.
Not when you get queued with players like this as if it was a flip of a coin. That just means the mmr shouldn’t be at all based on team-performance, but rather, PURELY based on your own. It might mean the system needs to get adjusted a bit, and calculate based on all damage that was dealt that game by teammates, aswell as enemy players. My point being, there shouldn’t be a 50/50 on whether you get a good team or not. It should be based on your own individual performance, and be placed with similarly skilled players, which is clearly not how it works now, even if the game describes it as so.
Who said I’m playing badly? I don’t play bad, but because this is a team-game, I shouldn’t be expected to carry multiple people pr round either. That’s not me simply getting good, that’s me overperforming my role, and I shouldn’t have teammates like that in the first place then. I should be higher, or they should be lower.
You’re so clueless it’s laughable. There, are FIVE OTHER PEOPLE. You expect a tank to bloody do every single little thing and if he can’t do everything he has to learn and play better. You live in a coo coo nest, I can’t even. Obvious troll is obvious.
You as 1 player can lead your team to take map control. You don’t have to kill the Soldier per-say. You just have to take the advantageous positions away from him. Make the game harder for him to play. (although Soldier is a bit rubbish right now, but I will keep to your hypothetical example).
That is a skill that can be learnt. And some tanks can do that alone, Ball, some require just the base level of team work.
The fact that you think this is trolling is hilarious. No wonder you blame others for your inability to climb. They must be trolling to.
As a Rein… wait till you have to play against Mei Reaper rush in a week or so. Then you will be struggling.
I can think very objectively about myself, as I have no use for pride, and I’m very insightful.
Arrogance would be claiming I’m the best, and that I have nothing more to learn at all.
These are not mutually exclusive to one another. I can do both, really. I’m fairly good at measuring myself realistically, as I don’t feel shame, pride or insecure about myself in any way. I’m just honest, as it’s the easiest and simplest way to do things. Saying I’m “not good” would be lying, which I won’t do.
Why are we in plat… Because we are not very good. There is no shame in that. Some people will be happy with that. But that doesn’t mean you are good at something.
I can play football to a competent level… doesn’t mean I am good. Far from it.
I worked hard to get to my diamond with persistance, playing many games in certain seasons to climb up, no matter how frustrating it was. Seeing all the stupid things people do can really kill the motivation. And after a terrible un-lucky streak of matches where we had leavers and bad players, and I dropped right back down again after working so hard to get up there, I lost interest. But that doesn’t mean I’m plat. That simply shows how much impact random people can have on MY rank, which is a terrible thing for a ladder imo. Nothing wrong about being in plat, and I’m not looking down on you simply for having reached diamond. But I AM still diamond. It’s not like I was lucky and got missplaced in dia. Bad luck dragged me down again. Out of my control.
Don’t, he’ll never understand. Keep doing what you’re doing! You know I climbed to 2380 (Highest) because we won many games while being in a group with one of my friends and people I met on Overwatch. Me and my friend went back to WoW and stopped playing Overwatch (Then came back), overtime stopped playing with the people I met and solo queued. Then dropped down massively. Had great convos, shout outs and such while grouped. When playing solo, people don’t even join voice, there’s barely any communication or team work, which says a lot really. The game is a team effort, but this little treacle thinks otherwise.
Where on earth did you get that impression from? did you not read what I just said? I climbed for hours and days, and finally reached diamond, then in 1 hour, just because of leavers and trolls, I plummeted down again. In what way did I “take my foot off the gas pedal”? after getting all my hard work squandered by leavers and trolls, I lost motivation to climb back up again, as it just ruined all my hard work. All those hours and days… for nothing. Back to square one, because of awful players. How is that on me? I didn’t make them leave, I didn’t troll, I played as best as I can. but there was no more motivation to climb back up again after losing ALL that time consuming progress in a matter of an hour.
Literally nobody is thinking that. Everyone tries to improve. No idea where you pull this weird info from. It’s certainly not what we are writing at all, maybe you have some difficulty reading? It’s fine if you do, I just mean that, if you can’t read correctly, then you shouldn’t really comment as if you did.
It’s almost like you are trying to find info between the lines, when all the info is right in front of you.
Good on ya, and good luck with your climbing, this is completely fine.
How did you get to that conclusion? xD I lost interest AFTER I plummeted, DUE to leavers and trolls. I lost interest in getting BACK to the rank I reached again, as stuff like this is out of my control, how can you not see that?
What? xD Subconsciously not trying as hard? xD jesus, where do you get it from, that’s hilarious. I ALWAYS play to win, doesn’t matter what game, what modes, what age. In my entire life, I’ve always played to win. If I don’t, then that’s fine. Means they played better, or I played bad. I can tell the difference, and since I don’t feel shame, I have no problem taking the blame if I can see that objectively, it was on me.
Not if it’s actually true. Being arrogant would mean I see everyone as they are below me, and I’m above them. SOMETIMES this just happens to be correct. As you may know, a stopped clock is right, twice pr day. I’m quite good at thinking objectively. I have no pride, and no shame. I’ll be the first to admit when I’m wrong, and when I mess up. But I’ll also point out the objective truth when I see it, and that’s not arrogance.
Bad attitude, but ranked is very unbalanced, why cant you accept it as a fact, instead of bashing everyone on their performance, maybe truth is in both ways.
Well, you ever thought, maybe, just maybe that, they were? It’s not a terrible attitude. If someone, say, a hammond just rolls around in your spawn purposely throwing, and you lose, is that Hammonds fault or your own? I’m intrigued, because your attitude is blaming yourself if someone like that in your team throws, which is beyond ridiculous.
I’d report the Ball player, then forget they exist and get on with the game and try do the best job I can with the resources available.
Then afterwards, look at how I could have done things better. Chances are you will lose but if you can work out how to maximise value in a 5v6 , that is a pretty useful tool.
Getting tilted about one person isn’t going to help you in any way.
