Does anyone know what the meta is now? So we recently got a patch and I don’t really know what to play specifically for support.
From what i have seen, and experienced, main tank is a bit dead…
A lot of Hog/D.Va or Hog/Zarya. If they are not playing zen Winston or Ball with Zarya can work too.
As for DPS. I think it looks like a sniper fest. Maybe mixing in a little echo.
Bap/Zen for heals mostly.
Depends on your rank, but you shouldn’t just copy the meta.

But it is too early for a meta… wait for the pro teams to start scrimming on this patch, that will quickly find what the best comps are based on the data.
I have a feeling they’ll go rein or winston with dva or zarya.
The higher you go til will boil down to best widow wins as the more you climb, the more broken she appears.
Below (Grand)Masters, meta doesn’t matter.
The meta is usually the most consistent and effective enough composition given that everybody plays their specific hero to her/her full potential.
In lower ranks, people just do not have the mastery yet, so other comps can be better.
Even in the previous patch, a badly played double shield would lose against Roadhog+Dva if the Roadhog and DVa knew what they were doing, and the tanks on the other side didn’t.
Do not try to copy the meta, play the heroes you are good at.
In gold, Moira is still strong if you play her aggressively, and Brig will probably also still be good. Bap also works well and the Zen buffs might also help a lot considering people usually don’t really dive the supports.
If you want to climb, I’d go with Moira or Bap. At around 2.4k, you could consider playing a bit of Ana. Don’t bother with Ana below that, there’s not enough teamplay going on for her to be effective.

Depends on your rank. A meta doesn’t really exist at all whilst below masters or really gm, as people don’t have a good enough understanding of the game there. At pro level and gm, will most likely be Winston zarya dive with a sombra, but probably a lot of space for variation as dive normally creates a lot of differences of comps. Brawl comps with rein zarya will also still be viable in a lot of situations too. Hog will probably be much more viable in comp at all ranks, but probably not in pro play as the only hero he synergises well with, orisa, is pretty dead right now, so he can be used in uncoordinated environments like comp, but not in any coordinated environment.

It is pretty much all Widow Sombra being played by the good players.
As soon as they toned Genji down he went back into the bin. Only the commited one tricks play him. Echo is a much better option if you are playing more of a dive option now. But Widow or Hog diff will be the deciding factors now.
Supports, you want Bap/Ana with Zen mostly now. I thought Zen would be a sleeper pick on this patch, but it turns out discord is super strong with the damage now being done.

Metas usually take a little while to form, but usually its irrelevant for most of the player base. its only a real thing when its overwhelmingly strong (goats). what usually happens is the meta in pro revolves around the stronger heroes so you just end up playing with an against those characters over and over agin with the occasional weird pick
