What is your logic for handing out endorsements?

Just curious, what’s everyone else’s logic? Do you just instantly endorse your teammates or do you base your endorsement on other factors? Just curious, thanks for intelligent responses.

I base my endorsements on the following:

Sportsmanship
It always depends on the chat. I give someone that endorsement when they either motivates the team, try do solve argues peacefully or when they talk with the enemies respectfully.
I’d consider “gl hf” or “gg wp” by the losing team as good sportsmanship, too, but it isn’t 100% worth an endorsement.

Good teammate
Teammates who communicate efficiently (using the “group up” or “I need healing” key counts, too) will get that endorsement for sure.
If a player doesn’t communicate but shows cooperation in another way (ult combo, effective healing, waiting for dead players to group up, etc.), then they will get an endorsement, too.

Shot caller
This is solely based on communication: If a player takes the “leader role”, plans composition, tells the team who to focus, etc. then that’s worth the endorsement.

I personally consider this the most valuable endorsement type because there aren’t many players who take initiative and coordinates the team.

Shot Caller is pretty self explanatory, just calling locations of enemy team would convince me to endorse it.

Good teammate to players that are making an effort, which is tricky since certain roles have limited observation of own teammates. But someone filling in, willing to combo, switching if things are not working, using voice and communicate with the team. Sometimes details like someone keeping a close eye on our healers and jumping on flankers in an instant.

Sportsmanship usually to a player that stands out with certain dialogues (just glhf won’t cut it though) or laughing out a funny moment or death. Basically if a player gives out a positive vibe during the match without it being generic lines that look like endorsement fishing.

Out of curiosity, why wouldn’t you endorse players who play those heroes?

Are they bad teammates in your opinion or is that a personal preference?

I can imagine that’s likely because people that play those heroes tend to play extremely selfishly.

Not saying this is the case all the time, but a lot of snipers, doomfists and sombras I see just piss around on their own trying to get picks with no regard for teamplay. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Because there are more useful heroes to use that benefits the team more.

But to be fair, If a Sombra, Doomfist or sniper player plays extraordinary well, supporting the team and cooperating efficiently, they would deserve an endorsement, right?

I generally don’t as don’t see what they actually achieve

I get endorsed for ‘Shotcaller’ when I’m the only one in chat so all feels a bit meaningless in terms of ‘deserved’ reward.

Never used it and i probably will never use it, Unless He/she is really remarkable.

Shot Caller: You weren’t annoying on mic.
Sportsmanship: You weren’t annoying to play with.
Good Sport: You picked a tank and/or healer (except Brigitte)…and weren’t annoying.

I give endorsements to players who get on mic and joke around or give good call outs or words of encouragements.
And those without a mic, usually those who let others know their ultimate charges, the ‘thank you’ call out for a player’s actions or calling for a push to the point.

I got endorsed for everything and I was just enjoying myself bombing people with junkrat lol. I got endorsed with team leader and shot caller, lol. Bad system with false information flow…

I am actually amazed blizzard did sportsmanship I thought they would be too P.C for that.

I just give out endorsements to people who switch heroes, who communicate well, who do not sit on widow/hazno/doomfist/sombra all match whilst we get crushed. I didn’t think shot caller, good teammate and sportsmanship mattered.

I normally just use good team mate as it’s honest.

Shot caller : For those who read the game and warn about flankers or ultimates against us
Good teammate : For those who work on synergies with the team and always enable/follow up plays/calls.
Good comms : For people that actually speak and suggest things in a polite way.

I pretty much gave up on after I lost an endorsement rank for being nice for 20 games, then had an off-round and got demoted. Sorry I’m not a Saint I guess?

I usually give shot callers for teammates who say who’s low and tell if someone is flanking or any callouts mostly (voice chat only tho)
Good teammate I give it when He/she plays well in their respective role as in off tank peels for the supports and such (even if not in voice chat they do their roles)
Sportsmanship I give when He/she gives a goodvibe or is positive not being like oh you guys s*ck (even without voice chat)

90% do it randomly.

Sometimes i endorce people just because i want to BUT i can be serious about it too.

Just like the description says about the endorcements i give them out to the right ppl who i think deserves them.

It’s really not that hard haha.

Not doing it unless a person really stands out by doing what they’re supposed to be doing and leaves a positive impression that lasts until the end of the match. I guess I could still count on one hand how many times that happened since the stuff went live. Other than the teamplayer endorsement I am not giving out anything either. Add to that that during a session you’re mostly playing with the same people anyway, even if the side they’re on might change and that you can only endorse them once (per day?). Well, and if things work out and you decide to stick together as a group, you can’t endorse your members at all anymore… so screw all that.

It’s a crap system and I don’t really want to be part of it the way it is set up now, and luckily I am not bothered by it at all when playing Arcade - and that’s where I have been hanging out quite a bit lately.

It’s amazing how peaceful and laid back this game can be when there is nothing and nobody else to blame but the sometimes cruel RNG.
