I have heard that your first 25 levels in quick play, and your performance in those games determine your MMR for competitive play. A good example to support this would be the fact that xQc placed Grandmaster at level 25, after losing 4 of his placement matches. 6 wins = 4250SR.
I am curious as to what would happen if you reached level 25 through custom/AI games. As you all know, you receive XP through these games, so if somebody was to do so and play competitive albeit never even playing quick play, how would their competitive MMR be determined?
I don’t think that you can obtain your MMR through custom games. It just seems too flawed.
But then how would matchmaking place you in competitive?
I think it tries to calculate your MMR in the first placement matches which would be either an easy ride or total hell for the said player.
To be honest, it sounds intriguing to find it out but I have no will and money to buy an alt account to execute such an experiment.
Nah i really dont think it has anything to do with that… If you watch video’s of say Muselk, he never ever played quick play seriously… Never… Imagine arcade… And still has a good rank…
I think it has everything to do with ur placements… Not if you win or lose them… But more ur performance 10 games…
But to be fair, no one should even go into comp at level 25…
I guess it would calculate your ability based on the characters you played and how well you done on them in comparison to the upper tier of players.
Almost everyone goes into comp on level 25 as they
- Don’t know what they are getting into
- Are Smurfs and know what they are doing so they have no reason to stay off Comp
The only time someone couldn’t was when season 1 ended since back then there was no off season or before comp ever existed.
Simple answer: Everyone would cheat
