What's GG mean?

If I absolutely dumpster your team, that’s GG yeah?

it’s the same thing as shaking someones hand after a sports game.
if you dumpster them you go shake their hand, if you have a good match that was close you go shake their hand.
it’s to foster good manners and showing no grudge and showing respect and humility for all involved.

it was a while it was implemented but now it seems people have forgottten the meaning and use it contextually to show displeasure or to taunt.

Yeah, GG is fine there.

You’d get a wp back from me.

Why though?
Playing badly doesn’t make it a bad game…

The team gets dumpstered. They played badly. That’s how it works.

Feel free to elaborate on how you’d get dumpstered if you didn’t play badly…

if its a stomp its a bad game

It’s a “bad game” because the losing team played badly.

Still, just take the L, learn from it and say well played. No need to cry about a bad game.

yes so it’s a bad game is all i’m saying
ur not entitled for anyone to say anything lol
there is nothing sportsmanlike whatsoever from either party saying gg when there is a complete stomp

While it means “good game” literally. It’s used more as a well played, and taking the result in good grace.

Sometimes teams just don’t click and play badly and get stomped. Doesn’t mean the game was bad, just means the result wasn’t close.

You did in that post though…

I said nothing wrong in that post at all actually.

Don’t use words like “Blizzard,” “Blue,” or any employee names in a thread topic.

Everyone would like Blizzard to read and acknowledge his or her post, and we understand that. However, these kinds of posts won’t help you achieve your goal. Please make your thread title relevant to the post subject. Threads violating this guideline are subject to removal, along with forum account suspension.

No beef, just letting you know. Whilst not directly this, but there also the ToS that has a section on bad mouthing employees (as well as other players).

If someone on the winning team just wiped the floor with another team say “gg” at the end, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s malicious. To prove that you’ve have to know who that person is and what their intentions are at that given time, which is impossible when you’re playing with strangers spread across a continent.

The gg could be from someone who felt bad that they won so hard and wanted to try and be nice, it could be from someone who actually had fun with no evil motives, they just had a good time in the quick game, and sure another possibility is the gg could be from someone trolling the losing team, acting like it was anything close to fair.

What’s the lesson here? You simply don’t know so getting worked up over it is pointless

Pretty much… Well nonetheless, I say GG because it’s good sportsmanship. I don’t get why people get triggered over the “gg ez” sentences that occur when said. People take the game way too seriously.

This I totally agree with.

Technically everyone’s woke, based on its definition…

Getting triggered and disliking something are two different things, i doubt that “gg ez” gives anyone ptsd symptoms.

To me it’s just bad manners to rub it into someone’s face that they were easy to beat.

because it’s disrespectful?
and wether you like it or not when you compete you’re gonna get emotionally invested in it and it will annoy you when someone is acting disrespectful to you and it will drain you emotionally if it keeps happening.

Not really. If anything, the response you just did is considered unhelpful and inappropriate.

I don’t find it disrespectful, and I’m sure others feel the same way.

you keep telling yourself that, just don’t be surprised you won’t have anybody to play with sooner or later.
