Don’t get me wrong, I do not hate Mercy!
It’s all perspective. I myself have been playing Mercy a lot as well. In fact, been a Mercy main for a long time. I was trying to say that Mercy isn’t that demanding aimwise as Ana is. And has GA which is a huge advantage over Ana. It’s much more easier to get out from sticky situations.
At least this is how Mercy is played in Platinum. I can’t say anything about much more higher levels as there could be some aspects of her I can’t possibly think of as a platinum player.
I know you don’t hate Mercy. Ana is definitely more demanding aim wise but aim isn’t the only measure of skill. GA definitely is a mobility advantage over Ana but there’s a reason for it. You have to consider every aspect of the hero and I too often see Mercy haters conveniently forget that Mercy has mobility because she has to use that mobility to retain a closer distance to her allies / enemies than Ana has to.
Ana also has the highest burst healing in the game and is the only hero capable of shutting down her enemies healers which grants her very powerful offensive capabilities which Mercy doesn’t have.
This is my point, the game is complex and I see too much talk like it’s a simple game of tic-tac-toe where we make grand, sweeping statements like “Mercy need no skill duuur”.

You have a very simplistic way of viewing things.
Mercy has to utilise a lot of mobility to both retain cover and get into dangerous positions to maintain healing range on her allies whilst also being the prime target in a battle. Mercy has to make decisions all the time, taking into account things that Ana just doesn’t have to bother about. She’s constantly balancing her allies survival and her own whereas Ana can just sit back and tag allies at any distance.Again, I’m not saying Ana doesn’t have her own challenges, because she does. But Mercy has challenges unique to her, which is something you obviously refuse to acknowledge, which is typical for a troll Mercy hater.
I could go on but what’s the point? You’re another boring troll. If you can’t figure the challenges associated with Mercy I can’t be arsed to put it all out here for you to just dismiss it with dumb comments like “every hero needs positioning”, like you really think it’s that simple?
none of that is accurate, you pad the things she can do, as if it were skills, instead of opportunities and easier relocation. Fact is she has GA mobility that makes her more mobile, harder to kill than stationary Ana with no mobility.
And yeah it is quite simple, there are heroes with positioning issues and mercy is not one of them she is the least positioning heavy hero cause she has an instant low CD mobility ability, if a ana is out of position, she is dead, or her ally is, thats how simple it is.
You also pad ana as if she can just stand back and click, no, snipers are meta, before that it was flankers, both tear anas ass up if she sits back. Also sitting back again makes sightlines easier to disrupt so people cant get healing, where mercy would just be able to GA to keep up and heal, she can even heal around corners and walls for easier use .

Then stop talking like you don’t. Acknowledge that there are challenges that Mercy players have to deal with that Ana players do not. Stop simplifying things down to “every hero needs positioning”, because comments like that are painfully stupid. It’s like saying “every hero shoots”… you know how many asterisks go along with a statement like that?
I am not simply saying that, i do however say, that Mercy has self healing, she has a low CD and the best mobility option, while her whole kit allows her to never have to accurate at aiming, with her brain or her allies, cause LOS healing, literally not even targeting the target and you are still healing it.
See, I can’t be arsed to read past this comment. You just prove to me that you’re going to stick with your close minded narrative that Mercy players have no skill and nothing I say is going to make a dent in that. Stick to your guns troll, I don’t care for debating with you. It’s a waste of time speaking with a rock.

It depends what you mean by “mechanical skills”, do you just mean aiming or do you mean control over skills like GA? Is aiming worth more than GA control? What do you mean by positioning? A Mercy has to relocate more often than Ana does because Mercy has to get much closer to the battle in order to heal whereas Ana can retain distance.
So, think before you come out with overly simplistic statements like Ana requires more skill because it’s a lot more complicated than that.
just stop, GA has 2s CD, you dont manage it, you spam it, when it gets off CD if you are under fire, if not you do it as you see fit, like when flying with a pharah.

Aiming is one of the key factors that differentiate characters from each other, some has to aim, some doesn’t have to. Unless its Tracer, where mobility is a key factor, but here again using the mouse/aka aiming is a great part of her mobility to play with.
Mercy doesn´t have to be closer than Ana, since often they have to both be close, no maps are that long, that you can afford to be in the back, because you will get killed by flankers. She has the best burst healing, outside of moira aoe, but she cant heal through barriers, has to hit it and cant really move the same meanwhile. Outside of this Mercy can heal her allies if they are fighting and get behind pillars, she herself can also stand behind cover while healing someone she cant even see. Her being closer to her team is not a disadvantage, its the position you want to be in for peels and help. Then having her mobility is just making this “disadvantage” better for her.
Mercy is the nr 1 widowkiller, when in valk, she has the highest flying mobility in the game and her pistol as i mentioned is the least accurate projectile in the game, that is so forgiving its r*tarded.
Anyway, as I said in my initial reply to this thread. You get abuse for playing Ana but you also get abuse for playing Mercy. It’s just different flavors of abuse for different players. Best thing is to just not take it too seriously and if it gets too bad just ignore/report them.

the only closed minded person here is the private profile nobody, thinking his padding of mechanics validates his opinion on Mercy.
fact of the matter is you have said before that you spend 90%+ of your time on Mercy, sure if you havent played anything else, mercy might seem hard.
But us, that play a huge amount of different heroes as mains, (I have 6). Also flexes 1-2 heroes in my none preferred role, simple know more about, what is hard and, what isn´t. There is a reason people got form Bronze to top 500 with mercy, with less than 50% winrate.
Your arguments hold no water, cause they are all based on your precieved version of, what it is like playing her. I can say that hitting flick shots with widowmaker and mccree requires a degree in mathematical trigonometry, since you have to calculate the up and sideways momentum to hit a small round object, but that doesn´t make it accurate and a valid “skill”.
I think that this is thread is here. You’re clearly more fixated on projecting your own subjective opinions around than having a constructive discussion about some real issue. Maybe having this sort of an attitude is the reason why you’re facing such critisism.
Nah, in master people are finally noticing what their teammates are doing, atleast that’s my experience.
You trying to tell me that I am playing badly with Ana and that’s why I am getting reported and that I should accept it and just “get better” somehow.
The thing is that my performance with Ana is decent with some problems of course that the average casual player struggles from. It’s not that I would be trolling all the games I lose or playing really badly. I mean I am in plat for a reason that should mean I can’t be much more worse than my fellow mates to make them lose the game therefore justify all those false reports against me.
So why is that so when when I play something other than Ana and perform pretty good but still lose the game is fine, but when doing the same with Ana I get an approx of 4 reports every losing game?
Do you seriously think that it’s because of me?
Gotta admit, Ana is the most skilled healer at the moment, and people seem to think no-one can play her. You shouldn’t be banned or suspended for playing her, that’s just ridiculous. The report system is a joke because Blizzard are too tight even though they make millions, they made the report system effortless and stupid.
People need to realise there are 6 PLAYERS on the team, If the team loses badly it’s most probably more than one person causing the issue.
If you have 70% accuracy and such, I don’t see a problem, as long as you’re healing and doing your job. Some people don’t seem to understand what ‘teamwork’ means.
Your performance is meaningless. It has nothing to do with what you did or did not do. It has nothing to do with what Blizzard considers bannable. Enough reports and you’re suspended, that’s it. It’s an automated system.
I’ve never said that even though everyone in this game should get better somehow, even the pros. You yourself implied that you’re inconsistent with her and I said that if you choose to make the inconsistent and therefore sub par pick of main healer in competitive mode you can’t be reasonable and expect to face no critisism over it because this is a competitive team-based game where you’re expected to play for a victory without conditions and communicate a.k.a. give and receive feedback especially when somebody’s possibly jeopardizing that victory for their own subjective reasons. Reporting you isn’t feedback for you even though you try to twist it like that for some absurd reason.
Don’t get this wrong. Your teammates are in the wrong when they report you even when you’re trying to do your best with Ana, but if you refuse to switch off her when you’re being really inconsistent with her and your teammates are asking you to switch because you’re jeopardizing their performance then it can be interpret as Gameplay Sabotage and AFAIK you’ll get suspended for it if you just get reported enough for it. Blizzard doesn’t have a proper guideline for this yet as they say that all picks are viable but suspend people one-tricking so take this as a heads up rather than just trying to be condescending or something like that. It might feel frustrating to switch from your main that you want to practise into another hero but flexing into Mercy even a bit more would help you both avoid those reports and win more if you can play her properly
Report and then getting suspended isn’t really a feedback of any sort. It’s scapegoating.
If you switch out heroes then there’s nothing to report about and you’re safe. I’ll repeat: reporting isn’t feedback
I just love how i told you the same thing and you still ignor it.
When i pick Ana from unrank to master i will awlays get someone on my team who rightfully so will ask me to swap to Mercy since shes just that much better whetter its her low skill cap or her powerfull abilitys that doesn’t matter the fact is that mercy is the most consistant support this game has to offer and its abut time that changed. Shes just to good in every senario. And her pick vs her win rate show’s just that. You might think that when everyone plays something they are bound to drop its win rate yet you will never see that happening to mercy.
On top of all the favortism heroes like mercy have its just grose.
You can one trick most of this games heroes and you will eventually get ban’d unless you one-trick mercy then no matter what happens you will sooner or later have endorse level 5 and hit top 500.
+you have problems when people creat a lot of mercy nerf topics since its agenst the code of conduct but your perfectly ok of going to buff mercy topics who break the same code of conduct and support them showing that you just don’t really care about the code of conduct unless you gain something from it that just makes you look supper baist and greedy…
Mind me asking, where that so called experience comes from ?
Not trying to be rude, but your account is currently ranked silver, which quite a bunch of ranks below even master. So unless its a a troll account and your main is ranked differently, then i dont see how your “Experience” in that tier is relevant.
I have been from top 500 to masters, when i had to rank up a smurf and my account from playing with low ranked friends in placements. Masters are the point where you begin seeing players act and play accordingly to a “Good player”, but this is most of the time, cause they have been GM or higher multiple times. I have never seen a person be at their highest point, which is master, that exhibit these traits then.
I play in Platinum (although my games consist of mostly diamonds) but I rarely get flamed. If I do, it’s by a DPS who thinks that as they go for their ult, the enemy Widow will all of a sudden just leave me alone so I can peek around and nano them.
I used to play on another account, which was ranked at 3800-3900. Accidentally bought Diablo 3 on that account when all my other Blizzard games are on this one, and after spending a year being annoyed I have to change accounts for both D3 and Overwatch, I finally decided to merge them. OW wasn’t transferrable, so I’m grinding this one up from bronze again. Not that hard, to be honest, I have an 80% winrate, but I got the other account because I believed in ELO hell at the time
I’m ignoring these posts simply because they’re false and have absolutely no credibility as it became clear that the person behind these posts/replies has absolutely no interest in constructive discussion nor do they even have proper knowledge about what they’re talking about while making statements they deem factual (when they’re not) or that are just plain ad hominem. There’s absolutely nothing worth while in having a discussion with a party like that be it anyone especially if they don’t even show curiosity or the will to learn something new rather than just spew out their own subjective opinions that are some-what their own and some-what just the overall feeling they’ve gotten from the forums.
I hope you understand why someone wouldn’t want to discuss these topics in circumstances like this and start looking into statistics and game mechanics before posting again
