Why are hard cheats like this even possible?

Is overwatch anti cheat sleeping? Are there any admins or mods watching the games anymore? I seriously don’t understand how is that possible. Bro is obvious from the very beginning with his walls and aim lock, leaves mid match to reset stats and mask himself better then plays with a full stack and a pocket. Not obvious at all. I’m talking about ashe, the “Evo” whatever guy

They get past even the most invasive anti cheat out there (like vanguard).

Devs can’t beat them. They can only inconvenience them.

Sadly there too much money in that industry, so they’ll keep finding ways round stuff and pumping them out.

Until governments and law makers actually get involved, there is no real deterrent to cheating.

This reminds me a bit of a Hanzo cheater I last encountered. You know they are cheating but it’s less obvious until you see replays.

Ye OW2 is full of them sadly…

Some cheats, like the expensive ones can be hard to see, even in the kill cam, but some, like the cheaper ones are more obvious when you look at the kill cam. Sadly, far too few are looking at the kill cams.

Far easier to catch them in a replay, and that’s mostly thanks to the fine grained speed control feature.

Wallhackers are even easier to catch. They’ll either blatantly look straight at someone and track them through the walls, or they’ll angle their camera in a way that enables them to see the enemy players and ‘predict’ where they’ll be coming from.

They get around it because of inside sources leaking codes etc to them, or because someone on the inside are making the cheats themselves to sell on the side for more money. Been that way since forever and that’s why cheaters manage to stay a step ahead of game devs.

Only when the game devs crack down on it internally and flush out the people leaking codes/making the cheats on the side, can they get anywhere.

The gaming industry when it comes to competitive FPS gaming, is more shady than it appears to be.

Do you think the government care about game cheats? Moat game companies dont do much, and cheating doesnt affect people outside of the game. Laws wont be passed. The closest I think is possible is a gaming body that moderates games, and their moderation matters, for example those travel websites like trivago or trip advisor. Or michellin stars, they moderate and rate these places without interfeering, but the consumer trust them.

The South Korean government does it. If you get caught cheating or distributing cheats for online games over there, it’s all over for your online gaming career and quite possibly your life as you’ll get heavily fined (and put in jail if you’re a cheat developer/distributor).

They most certainly don’t. Sadly. Which is why the tools aren’t really in place to go after these losers.

Agree again.

There are some laws they can use, mostly around copyright. But yeah, politicians are not interested in the slightest. Certainly in the UK, where EA back in the day mugged them off and they just took the money and ran.

But as whats his face says above, it can be done, and there are countries that are proof of it.

Wow, I was unaware of this. Thanks for telling me this, I think this needs to be looked over more countries. Or make an international committee for these laws. As many cheats are sold cross-country. Additionally the cheats should vary by game if a company asks for no cheats, as some games like minecraft allow cheats at the server owners permission

The one major issue with cheats is that most of them are due to insider leaks aka people who work for x developer who release the update codes for the cheat developers who pay good money for it. On top of that there’s even people who work for these studios who develop the cheats themselves and sell them on the side for money.

There’s a ton of money to be made in the cheat ‘industry’.

The ones who pay the most for cheats are pro gamers and Streamers. Typically a $50-$100 monthly sub fees. They can be configured like you wouldn’t believe it.

The most expensive ones can be set up to look almost natural, even with % based hit/miss ratio, 50/50 headshot/bodyshot ratio and much more…

Maybe an anti cheat system could be created that evaluates player performance over time, if it grows at an unnatural rate then it is to be considered foulplay. This will stop account sharers but realistically that shouldnt bother many people as account sharing is a rarity. The only way around this is by creating a new account and playing from there as cheats only. A way around this could be adding captchas mid game between rounds.
But the biggest way to stop players cheating is themselves. This is directed to cheaters out there
Are you proud of winning? Clicking open a game, getting a bot to win, and for what? Theres no satisfaction to winning as its so easy, and you didnt do it. Its like being proud of yourself for being friends with somebody who eats a sandwich, something easy for them, that you in no part added to.
I used to play minecraft, and I tell you now when I play creative its way less interesting as yes you build, but theres 0 challenge. I am likely to bet that there is a large amount of cheaters who must get bored leaving a pc on idly getting wins. Its honestly pathetic.
Thanks for listening to my TED talk guys.

AI anti-cheats are in development, but these things will take time as AI is still in its infancy state.

Once they manage to train them properly to recognize and target actual cheaters and perform live bans, cheaters should be shaking in their pants for sure.
