Why are my Headshots never headshots?

ok… quick question…

  1. as widow… why are my headshots, never registering as headshots…

and 2… why are enemy widows “anything shots” including but not limited to wallshots… registering as headshots…

p.s my ping is always at 27ms

Some video of it happening?
maybe your aim / understanding of where the head hitbox starts and ends is the real problem?

How can you not make headshots in this game, it’s netcode is pretty bad, even if I am not aiming head I make lots of headshots by default.

Maybe beacuse you don’t have such a good aim and need to practice a bit more, or you might shoot at the exact wrong moment and miss. my ping can be high somethimes but i can still hot my shots.

Because they might have what you don’t, good aim. Or they have been practicing a lot more than you have. I’ve been in this situation a lot before and sometimes i blame it on a excuse like “blizzard is always giving favours to the enemy widow” but i don’t really think that’s the point in this.

I tip you could try out is to often focus on your crossair and don’t look around to much, it would be much easier that way. You should look up “eye tracking widowmaker” on youtube or something like that. I’ve tried it out and it works better.

Yu should just focus more on training and hitting your shots, maybe more around more so the enemy has a hard time hitting you. Another tip is to wait for them to walk across your crossair and then shoot at the right moment.

in teamfortress game every headshots registering totaly perfect bcoz of old engine and direct 9 , overwatch is dx11+ and havoc engine using new , you need at least 144hz+ monitor and good internet with zero packet loss , im around 20 years playing fps games quake tf1 2 cs 1.6 csgo and i can say this overwatch have rly somthing diffrent sry for my english its all about blizzard using very diffrent system and engine " they just make first own fps game "

im god tier sniper in tf2 and csgo , but in overwatch im rly bad " it doesnt mean im bad at sniping , i have old computer and bad int " 80 ping with 60hz monitor "

i dont profess to have the best aim, but when your crosshair is on someones head… and you click, and its still on their head… and nothing happens… then something is wrong… and thats what im asking… and when a killcam shows they click the wall a meter to my side… and they get a headshot… something is wrong…

yep as i said in tf2 when ur crosshair on head and shot u take a kill that is it but in overwatch if u dont have 144 or 240hz monitors and good ping u cant kill someone by headshot not registering

Yep the game engine is pretty bad and netcode is on the floors. I am fine with gtx 1080 and 144 hz asus monitor though, headshots are pretty easy :smiley:

I shoot Mcree in the gut, I get a head shot, I shoot Hanzo in the foot, I get a head shot, I shoot 76 right in the head, no head shot.

blizzard first time make a fps game so i dont expect much from them still good game but this game with tf2 rly have mega diffrent in netcode , you will become god tier player in tf2 with high playtime in ow

I have the same problem sometimes too. It seems to be worse on some days more than others. It’s not your aim or my aim. Some shots actually don’t register. Makes me think if it’s something to do with the opponents connection or something.

LoL this is so true hahaha. With hanzo I shoot a pharah boosting into air with warp speed in full blur mode, I get a headshot. You really do not need to have a good aim in this game, things are registering pretty wrong all the time.

There’s zero movement acceleration, which is the no. 1 reason for headshots being harder to hit than in other games.

I used to be a very decent sniper back in MoH:AA days. I even participated in clan wars worldwide.

In OW I can’t seem to land many shots lol. Strange. I just now went to play some other fps games and my accuracy suddenly doubled compared to OW. I could land headshots consistently.
