Why did i lose an endorsment level?

I never leave games early, endorse people almost every match and behave nicely but i lost an endorsment after my latest match. I believe that it might have something to do with that i got false reported in my latest match by a really toxic player for killing him. What should i do?

In the beggining they care … now they do not… no money no funny!

They Don’t Care About Players… Just Want Money like All of Game Developers…So don’t Go Mad if they Can’t Make a Real Game…

I’m pretty sure endorsements have a decay system where, if you don’t get endorsed, you start to lose levels.

Endorsement level decays automatically. You have to receive endorsements periodically to keep it up.

Just to add something, the decays are match based, not time based. Your endorsement decays every match. Time has no impact though.

I did take a 1 month break and still have my endorsement lvl so I’m sure that the decay isn’t time based.

No idea how this endorsement thing works. I dropped from 4 to 3 after a quickplay match and I have no idea why.

I endorsed a member of the enemy team, I received two endorsements, I didn’t say a word in chat and I don’t use the mic so I know I didn’t say anything that might have offended someone.

We had lost the game, and I was playing as Brigitte. Is it as silly as someone could report me for playing Brigitte that would cause me to lose an endorsement level??

I lost all endorsement levels some time after they introduced the system.

What happened exactly is:

I pressed: Competitive Play
Found a Match
Got in
Got thrown back out without a message.

Lost the endorsement levels.

Just, don’t type anything in chat ever, don’t say anything ever in Voice Chat as well, and you won’t be reported by stupid people who abuse the system

I dropped from level 5 to level 4 because I left one game and I didn’t get endorsed much which is understandable since I was level 5. Really annoying.

I lost an endorsment level after getting endorsed by many people and endorsing others every match. Only thing I’ve done to suggest it could go down is leave a game early cause I was put in a game that was 10 seconds from finishing…

Because people stopped using it after lile the 2nd day or something.

Like i don’t understand what’s going though blizzard’s mind when they believed that the endorsement would reduce the amout of toxic we have in the game.

And the “avoid 2 players” aren’t helping at all, like woe it’s around millions of players who can be VERY toxic but you can only avoid 2…Good job blizzard

You lose endorsement levels by:

Not playing
Not getting endorsements
Being reported
Getting banned (lvl0)
Leaving games

That one is false. I’m still endo lvl 4 the whole time, even though I took a break from the game for months multiple times.

That isn’t the best indicator as we don’t know what percentage of endorsement is lost

and while it’s unlikely that blizzard a company which implemented sr decay would make a timer lasting longer than a month, doesn’t mean that it can be ruled out.

As for blizzard themselves they just said this

‘‘Your endorsement level can decrease if you do not continue to receive endorsements’’ -https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/game/endorsements/

Which could be in real time for all we know.

We don’t know though where they base the continuity on? It could be either real time or number of matches. Because of personal experience, I suggest the second option.

I need to clarify that my longest break was around 2 months. If time based decay exist, it would have little impact on your level. Otherwise, why else am I still lvl 4?

Yea, that’s the problem.

Well just for theory crafting

If it takes 200 endorsements to get to level 4 and 400 endorsements to get to level 5 but you lose 2 endorsements a day after not playing for a week then you could stay at level 4 for 3 months without losing your level.

Once again it’s all just conjecture and we don’t know as they didn’t make it clear.
