Why does nobody want to play support?

Healers don’t complain?

Every other match I have a mercy one trick whining that the DPS aren’t doing anything the literal moment we lose a single teamfight.

Tell them they’ve gun too.
From what i see in game, most of mercy player never use it.

When your team struggle to take pick, one more gun can make the difference.

Just try playing mercy it’s the most braindead brainless thing you can do its just boring compared to other roles the only “fun” healers are the ones that feel more like dps then healers… zen/brig…

well clearly you didnt use her at a master lvl.

Healers for the most part, take more mechanical skill as well as awareness than DPS. Don’t kid yourself

Healers complain literally all the time?
There’s no food chain either. It’s a video game, stop acting like you’re above everyone else because you sympathize with supports

Stop healing and you will see impact on the game

Playing support or tank when the dps in the team are brainless and don’t give a **** is extremely unrewarding and unfun.

I’ve won way more games by switching to dps from support when the other dps players are uncaring garbage than I’ve lost. Those people are literal dead weight.

Fun fakt dps do not carry teams tanks and healers does… well until grandmaster

No single role carries matches?
(excluding a broken widow/hanzo because they can instakill every 0.6 seconds and that’s horsebaloney)

Hi,
GrandMaster support player here.

The support role is a very very important role but many people wont play it because the role of support is to SUPPORT / enable your team to help them make those amazing plays and team wiping ultimates and in doing this means they get all the fame and glory whereas the supports get non of that unless your a god dps support but that would mean your not healing and enabling your team so you wont be climbing in ranked (that far any way unless your jjonak).

Not only do you not get the fame and glory (most of the time) but some people find the role just boring and stale to play with for too long and want to be the play-making, action packed dps player.

Your really have to have a support mindset if you want to succeed as a support and find it fun.

idk to me playing support is extremely fun when I have to avoid the other team’s abilities and stuff.

you know, like when you perfectly time a fade to dodge a hook?
or when you GA super far and make tracer’s blink useless?
or when you double headshot a genji as zenyatta?
or when you make everyone hate you as brig?

that stuff is just
DOPAMINE

I’m gonna say this,

Incorrect. I find it more fun when a DF/Tracer/Sombra comes my way, because then I get to prove to myself that I can sleep them and have them killed by my teammates. And also, I do enjoy playing Rein, as long as I actually have an off-tank with my that can take some of the booping for me and Winston because, well, I like my monkey! (It’s another thing when Zen comes into play)

However, I do agree that Orisa is static and boring, unless it’s maps where I can halt people of the map. (I still remember the day I halted an ulting Zen off the Nepal map, so glorious)

Because the most exciting support-related activity is to play Ana or Zen in FFA, where you don’t get punished for doing things that take more effort.

Sometimes Support doesn’t really get that fame they deserve. However your role is to support:

  • You enable that Genji to get that team kill by giving him Nano boost (example)
  • You enable your tanks to push forward by constantly healing them
  • You correct the mistakes your DPS sometimes makes by giving them a sudden burst of healing
  • You can 100% deny a team wipe with Zen, or enable one with Ana nade

The game does however not reward you as a Support. Sure it is easier to decline a full team wipe by doing your Zen ult during a grav + Dragon than doing a team wipe as any dps, however it should still be POTG instead of that time your hanzo shot 2 Arrows, killed 1 with a headshot and got an assist kill.

You press Q so yeah.

Ofc, you could right click the Zarya in the head, and slay 2 others with left-click orbs for that POTG, but 95% of the time that’s prevented by a million different things that take 0 effort. When you hit that 5% chance, you still gotta aim precisely and have some luck with ADAD. In fact, you’re feeding by even participating in 1v3 as Zen. Better to just let the Hanzo get the POTG.

You can’t sleep a genji/doomfist that’s bubbled or being dmed. Tracer only needs to distract you long enough for the front line to crumble. It’s fun - until the point people actually start playing smart.

If you’re good at Widowmaker, every DPS apart from Genji and Hanzo is a push-over.

(even more so now that doomfist got nerfed)

Feeding by keeping the team alive, ergo a “lifesaver” potg.

Sym icon and private profile, yeah you main a feeding hero.

Bait taken genius.

And u could actually read the post. I never said you are feeding if u get the “lifesaver” potg, even tho it takes no effort to press Q. I said you’re feeding if you’re playing Zen as DPS, and as we discussed, that would be often required to get the potg instead of that Hanzo who gets 2 headshots.
