Why get mad over QP

I was just achievement hunting in quick play and almost every game people get mad at me for “throwing”
I agree that I wasnt trying my hardest since it was just quick play, but why get so mad over a casual gamemode.
Like why not go comp if you expect your teammates to tryhard

Because people take this game far too seriously sometimes.

If I play QP I just turn all voice and text off, and just listen to music or chat to friends on Discord.

If somebody is being rude .go to social right click ,squelch chat .you wont hear their stupid talk for rest of the match .

Does throwing really matter in QP? I never understood why people got upset about losing in QP, I see it often as well.

I play QP when I am tired of competitive, I don’t often get mad I just play it to have fun

People get mad on a forum. Getting mad over quick play shouldn’t be a surprise.

hence why the ignore button was invented

I don’t like to hide people who disagree with me. I like to know the alternative view point. Even if it’s totally wrong, it is interesting to see what people think and discuss it with them.

just saying people who get mad have a solution.

I don’t get mad. If others do, I just let them vent. Not going to ignore them for it.

Might tell them they are wrong though.

hence the reason i said "people who get mad " . if you dont get mad then you dont need the solution .

True true.

I do find it funny when people start insulting others, might as well just hold up a neon sign telling everyone you’ve lost.

I’ve never played a game where I’ve had so many ups and downs like I have with Overwatch. I played Quake religiously for a decade and there was honestly never any downs, it was just 10 years of pure bliss playing with my own group of friends in our own EU clan. Overwatch is way more diverse though.

I went through a phase where I hated comp and how people just didn’t care, and I only played QP for like a year and told myself that I won’t care about SR any more. Then I did a 180 and got fed up of the disorganization of QP and now I only play comp, I don’t even warm up I just jump straight in.

I guess I just eventually came to the place where I realized SR is really meaningless in this game, and once I came to that realization, QP didn’t matter any more, and the only difference for me between QP and Comp became that on average, more people use VC comms in comp, and that’s why I only comp now.

It’s been quite the ride. Anyway, learn from me. Don’t worry about SR. Play QP to learn heroes and get ability and ult timings right, don’t expect anything from anyone else, just do you. Then take those skills to Comp and try your best while again not expecting anything from anyone. SR is meaningless. Be nice to others. That is all.

Had a match the other night (CP), it was actually full of banter and fun. After the game finished (We won) everyone wanted to stay in the group, then all added each other. It was the best laugh I’ve had in ages on the game.

Those kinds of matches are ones I really enjoy. If only they were all like that.

This sounds far too much like you made it up.

Glad it was fun though!

No… It was definitely not made up.

Fair play. Sounds like it was fun, was just expecting it to end in “and we all rode off into the sunset holding hands”

Overwatch def has the worst experience with that. I played a lot of games competitively and can say that Overwatch was by far the worst one with the community. I dont know how everyone is this toxic the entire time but it surely annoys a lot.

As an example I played Super Smash Bros. Ultimate competitively and there people already were toxic. But it never came to the point that someone threatened someone else. Overwatch is truly a whole new different breed.

The fact that people are sometimes even more toxic in QP than in comp is very fascinating. An experience we will never forget
