Why is cassidy everywhere?

I played some and only saw him in one game… he got rolled and immediately went Pharah.

Just put some T500 stream on while sorting some stuff and the players in the lobby all said that Cass was terrible now… and even the Cass main was having to try make Tracer work for him because of how bad he was.

Cassidy just got nerfed this patch… he’s now much less effective against Pharah, surely we’ll see much more Pharah now.

Yep. That was a weird move.

Because he has a lot of HP and DMG but then tracer is strong, echo is strong, phara is strong…people play strong heroes, OW has always had tiers like this, its impossible to balance the cast.

You’re not wrong, and i’ve seen a pretty big increase in Pharah picks in my own matches.

However, the problem in and of itself isn’t Pharah, it’s Mercy pocketing said Pharah, making her twice as oppressive. Mercy is the root cause of it all.

Whilst I agree, mercy is problematic, and has been for a long time (in terms of pushing numbers over break points).

Pharah is just very strong and very reliable even without the pocket.

She needed to be needed this patch, but they seemed to miss it completely. (Actually I know why they missed, but it just looks bad considering)

She becomes a major issue with a Mercy pocket, it’s undeniable, and there’s been a major rise in that specific combo as of late.

I can only imagine how it’ll feel like playing against those two heroes if/when they buff Mercy’s heals per second and her GA. I think it’s just a matter of time, really.

Pharah on her own is bad enough right now, but with a Mercy on a blue leash, she becomes an extremely oppressive hero, far more so than any other hero on the entire roster due to both of the heroes’ mobility abilities.

Agree, but so can every DPS.

Mercy is an issue.

Pharah is also an issue.

Pharah needs sizable nerfs, mercy needs tweaks to her kit.

Im sure we will see the nerf happening after 20 seasons or so… dont worry about it.

Option one: Replace blue beam with a new ability that benefit the entire team.

Option two: Remove her pistol. Replace blue beam with a damage ability (projectile based) that does the same amount of damage as her pistol. Add a new ability that benefit the entire team.

Option three: Add a resource meter for her blue beam that require healing to replenish and add a system that blocks her from blue beaming another teammember for 10 seconds after exhausting all the resources on one person.

These are just three examples of things that can be done with her kit to solve the pharmacy issue.

I’m sure there are plenty of other ways to sort out her kit.

Some variation of these. Also gives them a balance option over just purely how much it boosts. So easier to find tune.

No. Unless the damage ability on the staff feels just as satisfying it’s a big no from me.
The other 2 options sound fine.

I’ve been thinking that a resource meter for damage boost would be good. Or put it on cooldown charges.

She really don’t need her gun if the damage boost goes away. May as well use right click for damage instead. Her pistol is projectile based as well fyi, so it really wouldn’t make much of a difference there if they use the same projectile speed and transfer the same amount of ammo to it.

After all, what you see on your screen is just visuals. It’s all about the animations, and they could translate those animations into her staff on right click. The only thing of importance is where your crosshair is pointing.

Then she’ll be a heal bot… And that’s awful.

Ideally, supports should be DPS with lower damage output and healing as a utility, or like Ana where it’s essential the same action.

More lucio/zen/bap. Less Lifeweaver.

This is what i meant with ā€œfeels goodā€. The speed, ammo amount, projectiles could be shrank a bit in my opinion though…

I specifically added three options from the top of my head that would definitely work.

This being one of them.

Yeah projectiles doesn’t need to be bigger than they already are for her pistol. They could still use the right click to function the same as the pistol but without having to swap to a different weapon.

Same projectile speed. Smaller. Same amount of ammo. Only difference would be that you don’t swap weapons, you just right click instead.
