As i can only speak for WoW and OW, WoW isn’t losing it’s players because they get bored, it’s because blizzard makes the game casual friendly so even the dumbest ape on earth is able to achieve what a good player can.

? Can’t really say that it’s the same for OW, yet it’s kinda weird that overwatch is the only game where almost every game is such a stomp.
It’s casual friendly to make the overall size of the playerbase larger. It makes no sense to create a casual unfriendly game when the goal is making money. And what else could be the goal? Creating an AAA game for a small group of hardcore gamers who can’t repay even the development costs?
People still get bored of it but there are usually new players if the business and marketing goes well.
The fact that not everyone is in diamond/masters/gm proves that the game has depth. Those who don’t like the moba aspects or want more hardcore gaming experience can find a lot of other games (e.g.: Q3).
I could actually live with some imbalance on heroes. But whats tilting me the most is the community. I actually did my last seasons placements on last day and managed to climb about 200SR after that before season ended. The games we’re actually quite fun (I had 4 months break) and people we’re generally fun to play with.
But today when I decided to do this seasons placements, all this fun I had just couple of days earlier we’re completely crushed. After 2 ok games literally almost all the rest (7 out of those remaining 8) of the games had so much unnecessary trolling, people giving up way too soon (picking all dps and no tanks after first round that didn’t go so well) and starting to provoke some fight ín the chat before the match even started.
Why is it that instead gaming being fun people use it more as a way to channel their hatred against other people? I mean I have some issues in life and have some dark thoughts time to time but when I start the game I try to get away from real life BS, not get more depressed. OW is a fun game (and actually the first for me where I’ve actually had interest to watch Pro level games), sadly the community tries its best to burn it to the ground.
This is a 6v6 PvP game. There are lot of other games with zero human factor.
