I’d rather take Brig on release than this snoozefest.
Brig on release could cancel primary fire with melee and have double attack speed.
A clearly overtuned/OP hero released to push out an entire meta and cause frustration for an entire season?
I think I’ll go with Sigma on this one.
The normal counter to shields was additional damage, but you’re not allowed to do that anymore because something something balance.
This is definitely one reason for it. Sigma is grossly overpowered, maybe after his nerfs double barrier wont be such a drag. Rein + Orisa does not sound as bad at least.
This is just a personal opinion but it can be a combination of any two shield tanks and I would still hate playing against it. I come from Quake cloth, then BF, etc. I’m just not used to all these bloody barriers and action stoppers.

Get better dps teammates barriers are very easy to burn down.
You’re opinion goes against every single pro.
It works because its difficult to counter without effective DPS and with the DPS queue times its a bit of a gamble what kind you will get.
It also works because it is a very low skill meta so anyone can do it
It works because it’s the most effective comp to block incoming damage, making it harder for the attacking or advancing team to get in and get kills.
I would take Rein/Zarya, Hog/Orisa, Dive tanks, Goats, anything over double barrier which is boring as hell for me, but that’s just me.
