Why The Brigitte Hate?

Yeah sorry mate I thought you were talking to me so I owe you an apology.

People are whining because Brigitte is exposing bad players and putting them back into the place where they belong. Other than Reinhardt - which is intended - really every hero can deal with Brigitte with relative ease in a 1 vs 1 other than maybe Ana who might eventually run out of space while slowly wearing her down. Avoid the stun (of course) and the whip-shot and be on the health packs before she is, since he won’t regenerate health unless she does damage. That’s all there is to it, and everyone can do that. Some heros better than others.

Funny how after only 17 QP hours on Brigitte I know exactly what to avoid and with that how to take care of Brigitte when there is one on the other team, yet people who claim to be “pro” whine and complain because they apparently lack the intelligence to come up with a counter unless it’s being presented to them by some self-proclaimed “expert” in some video.

Anf frankly, if Brigitte like she is makes teams in that so precious “Competition” reconsider existing strategies and lineups, she is EXACTLY like she should be. Besides giving people more character and with that playstyle choices, that’s like the other main reason why new heroes are added. Mix things up to keep them from becoming stale.

Brigitte is just a hard counter for tracer / dive below high elo’s (i mostly play qp with my dia - master friends) some brigs can be hard. But on my level (plat) a brig is just a target to stick and stay away otherwise. Don’t forget that you could smash high skilled players with a combo that requires you to look in theye direction. While the flanket needs to make everything they did before, additional now, to this 6m radius around briggite. I like how she changes the meta, but srsly for me tracer is the best counter to a brig. All others just get smashed bc they can’t escape her 6m killing range not fast enough (like tracer) so… For me: briggite made all heroes worse except hanzo and widow, and tracer one of the heroes that can survive her.
I’m glad I can play around her, as I would never give up my fav. Hero just bc 1 or 2.top 500 are unstoppable and needee to be stopped.

lol doomfist can make rein shield go down but he doesn’t get a 600 health shield infront of him when he does it that would make him broken oh wait briggette gets one

I get what you’re saying but could it be argued Doomfist is an offensive Hero? Having him stray from the back line doesnt affect the team. If a Brigitte is up near a Rein while he’s holding a choke then her teams flank is exposed, they’re down a healer and should Brigitte be caught out of position she’s an easy kill with no support. Kinda like Moira going on the offensive when she should be healing?

I for one love Brig as she brings changes to the silly Meta slavery. Genji and Tracer no longer rule the game and we are free to explore other heroes in order to be allowed by the meta to play the game by picking someone else. How restricting it is to be only allowed to play a few heroes in the game or being bullied to no end out of being called “trash”.

Thank God for Brig! We can play this game again without being constantly taking down by the poster child as if don’t deserve to exist the Blizz world.

Yeah that was one of the reasons I liked Brig as well, I felt it mixed up the gameplay more. I had gotten bored of the same team picks, the same choke points, the same tactics and hardly played Season 9.

I also main Tracer and honestly dont find her as big a threat as everyone seems to say. I killed a Brig being pocket healed by a Mercy the other day without much trouble. It just takes a bit more patience and smarter play, keeping your distance, baiting the bash etc.

What are everyones thoughts on her offensiveness being nerfed in some way and her healing/support being buffed?

Yeah, I agree.

Blizzard release an interesting new character and everyone just spends all their time complaining about it. Brigitte can be a challenge to fight but I thought that was part of the point of gaming? To overcome a challenge and she is quite fun to play.
I’ll admit she is not my favorite hero ever but she defiantly isn’t as bad as people seem to say. I just don’t see the problem, I’ve gone over it from all angles and nothing.
She’s a good character, useful to have around, fun to play as and against but no one seems to appreciate this. It’s all whining about her being overpowered which I just don’t buy, yeah she’s more competent on her own than most support not needing to hide behind other stronger characters but her restricted healing and limited range I feel make up for it.

I’m on your side. They shouldn’t change her, she is just fine. A nice change of pace to an experience that sorely needed it.

Nothing wrong with Brig, she adds a nice shut down for all those annoying Genji/Tracer players IMO. If anything needs to be nurfed, I’d say her shield has 25% less health, but I would add more team heals to her attacks to put her more on par with Lucio. She also adds a nice counter to doomfist as well. Plenty of characters and play styles counter brig, also gives a bigger reason to play Ana to stop her self heals.

People hate brig because she couters a very popular set of heros.

Done.

Well, I mean you say that.

And you say yours.

For me its just like they needed something to stop these insane high tracer pro’s. But i think its too much of a reward as it is easy to pull off. (i main her as second choice, and it is really easy) at least with some practice and a lot of careful plays, you can outplay her. And for tracer, her ult kinda re-counters Brigitte. Anyway i like how it forces you to play other strats (maybe i just don’t like her counters

Let’s quote Jeff Kaplan.

“Op AF”

I think if you would try rephrase what you say into a more I guess “responsable” and nice tone people would probably be more inclined to listen to you try to understand what you’re saying. And even if that is not the case at least you still have you dignity left.

But I do somewhat agree with what you say if I look past how you do so.

Personally I think that Brigitte and several other heroes are “problematic” because of the fact that you have to put in little skill to achieve a big impact on the game and other heroes require a unreasonably higher amount of skill to achieve the same amount of impact on the game.

Due to that (or at least the perception of that if accurate or not) the people that play the heroes with higher skill requirements get (I think understandably so) frustrated about this subject.

When you’re 4 vs 1 Brigh and she won’t die through all the spam while she keeps slapping the living crap out of you, you know something is terribly wrong with her. I had a match earlier with a mate that played her and kept stunning slapping them to oblivion until they quit in comp. Reinhardt? No problem…stun, kill. Any squishy? Stun, slap slap die. It’s not hard to see why it’s not fun or fair facing her. Let’s not mention her ulti when she’s almost impossible to kill.

It’s that and also about how there would have been tons of alternative options to balance Tracer (or buff/rework other heroes) but instead they decide to create the cheesiest hero possible that requires no effort, clearly with the intention to make people with trash aim to not feel helpless against that GM Tracer who spends 1 hour minimum purely on aim practice every day.

there is so much hate because she is a low skill hero who can stun anything in close range without risk.
the only thing that can stop her stun is Zarya bubbles.

even with the 1-second increase on her bash, I still think it’s insane, just the sheer size of the hitbox puts doomfist to shame.

in addition, she deals immense dmg with stun/mace combo and has a passive healing with a smaller rein shield,
with all those combined, you got a support character that can 1v1 a roadhog and definitely win when played right.
