Why was the name for McCree changed because of some “sexual harrasement and toxic culture” related-reasons, but the russian flag is still in the game right now, after many months of the criminal and genocidal russian invasion of Ukraine? That flag represents destruction, death, and persecution (happening literally right now) to many millions of people, yet it can be shown off in-game freely? Isn’t that a bit toxic? With a million more reasons to act upon it, than in the case with the aforementined name change situation. Does Blizzard stand for and support genocide and the illegal murder of innocent civilians? Because that would be terrible for the company.

changing the mecree name was a silly move anyway. everyone will still call him that despite name change.
russia as a country should not be left out because of the presidents bad choices.

A high percentage of the russian population do not condone the actions of the state, however as they live in a rather unpleasant society it’s difficult to protest or do anything about it. Russia isn’t in itself bad, it’s the government which is.

Okay let’s get this one last time.
Jesse Mccree is a former Blizzard employee that basically gave his name to our favourite cowboy. However he was accused of sexual harassment and he quited the company. So because when you work in a company and more specifically on a character you gave the name of a sexual offender, you want to change it. Not just for the victims but for your team as well. And that’s totally understandable. Yeah the change is hard and the name was iconic but it’s for the better.
Russia is a country. Vladimir Poutin is a dictator. The goal of the current sanctions is not to humiliate a country, that makes no sense. It’s to ostracized the current leaders. To force them to stop. So removing a russian flag in a video game is ridiculous.
Get some geopolitical classes and common sense sometimes okay?

they may not be entirely innocent but they are just soldiers. they are following orders and additionally, many are trying to leave the country atm to avoid being brought into the war

No one has ever said it’s a one-sided thing.
We all agree the general public are innocent bystanders. They are suffering enough from either the decision of those who should know better, or the sanctions imposed upon them. If they want to escape reality to play some video games, we should support them, not cut them out.

Yep, I getting players with ruzzian flag all the time, who spam this Z V O letters and typing “glory to russia” “glory to putin” and all this things. Why they are in this game? Also they are the most toxic players as well.

Putin is the only one who makes and gives trouble to Russia and Ukraine, not entire Russians, It would be ridiculous to remove Russian flag just for one person - PUTIN.
