Why is the new 6v6 mode without the support for wide groups? As it stands now, I will be unable to test the mode because playing with my friends is obviously more important, but we would honestly love testing it. Is there a reason why wide queue is not implemented? To me it feels like active sabotaging of the numbers that want to play the mode.
They wanted to keep it as competitive as possible.
Nothing sells the game quite like high ranked streamer stacks having fun on stream in high ranked lobbies. (+ wide queues make queue times significantly longer and they wanted to avoid that where possible. Pointless test if everyone is stuck in queues).
How are wide queues extending times? They will only get matched against other wide groups. That’s basically two differnt pools of players to draw from. Regular queue times did not get affected in 5v5 by including wide queue.
Because it takes longer to find another wide stack of a similar range to put you against. Thought that would be fairly obvious.
They did. Wide queues were quite significantly longer (probably still, not tried it in a few seasons).
But I do not care about the queue times of wide groups, not extending queue times of people who play the game regularly. At least I can play with my friends if wide matches are available, even if queue times are long. No one else would even be affected.
Fair. Neither do I. But that is why they’ve done it, as many do care.
