Widowmaker is not balanced

I don’t care that she is hard to play. Hard to play doesn’t mean balanced.

I’m confused. I’ve been told many times that I’m a good Widow. But yet if I have someone or something bothering me all the time, I can 't do anything. How is she unbalanced?

Her fire rate is far too high for her damage potential.

But there’s buildings and shields and cover and more, so break the LoS and there is no potential. Force her to move into an uncomfortable location and kill her.

I don’t think she is unbalanced at all.

I agree widow is op but you should give some reasons so people can discuss. I’m kind of tired of listing the reasons I think widow is op

My guess by one shotting anything that has less than 200 (250?) HP by headshot? I remember winston was pretty decent counter to Widow and widow is good counter to Widow

that’s just it. you have to literally be hidden for the whole game.

I’ve noticed that new players don’t know that switching to winston directly counter Widowmaker.

Give it a try.

Most widows that are worth their salt have a pocket or a brig nearby. You can do that whole butt jump thing to dodge headshots but still…

X that are worth their salt have/do/know…

is about the person/role/job/whatever in question, it doesn’t apply to widow’s team.

Either way a Winston player who is worth their salt will know this and act accordingly.

How do you act against a hard counter ?

Winston is Widow’s hard counter and since I don’t play widow I wouldn’t be able to tell you.

You switch heroes…?

Got it. Switch to winston, then got shot as a dive her.
She then will grapple away, and then shoot me twice and I’m dead.

I play both Winston and Widow.

As Widow, I’m expecting a dive from Winston. When he dives, I aim for the head. If I miss, I let him land and drop down (if I am on high ground). If I’m not on high ground, I go there and aim. Winston has one of two options, 1) He goes outside his bubble to follow you for as long as possible. 2) He switches target. Widow’s forced movement is helpful enough for your team to do at least something.

As Winston, I go for Widow. Either to kill or to harass. I dive in, place my bubble and play around it until my jump is back. If Widow goes away, I follow (unless she went to a position where I can’t follow).

Still, you just proved my point. She is effectively unkillable, even by Winston, which many people say is a hard counter.
