So I’m relatively new to pc overwatch (played about a year and a half of PS4 before moving migrating to pc) and I’m not really sure how reports work as they never actually seemed to do anything on console.
I was playing a game of Petra death match as Phara, a hero who I really do not play very often, and was accused of aimbotting. The reason I was accused of this is because of a very strange shot I made onto a genji. Now, from my perspective this shot looked like I went up a jump pad, turned right, saw genji, and shot him. HOWEVER, from the replay viewer (and I presume the kill cam) it looked very different. It looked like I used the jump pad, started walking into a corner (it looks like the type of movement that happens when you’re lagging; as in you just keep moving in the same direction without looking around until you stop lagging. Idk if this is a good description but I hope you get the idea), and then suddenly I’m looking at the genji and I hit him with a direct shot. As in one frame I’m looking at a wall, the next I’m looking at genji.
Now I KNOW that this looks suspicious af and I don’t blame either the genji or anyone else who checked the replay for thinking I was using an aimbot, though I swear I was not. Idk how lag works in the replay viewer but it looked like lag to me.
So chances are these people have all reported me for hacking, which I honestly can’t blame them for as it does look really suspicious. But I’m starting to freak out about potentially getting banned. If blizzard just look at all the reports and then the replay they may also think I’m aimbotting and ban me, which I don’t want to happen. So what will happen? Will they just check the replays or will they check my files for an aimbot or something?
EDIT: Reddit has answered this question for me so no need to respond. Thank you for taking the time to read this though
