So we know there will be many heroes changes and Wrecking Ball will be added soon. What’s about LFG? Currently it has too many issues.
- When going competitive games it’s impossible to detect which player prevents the game from starting because of private profiles where rating is hidden.
- It’s easy to unintentionally leave the group pressing ESC button at the moment when leader initiate role changes (when you actually meant to exit e.g. hero gallery, but role choosing dialog shown up)
- Filter settings are not saved across LFG browser openings. If settings saving will be implemented there should be separate settings for filtering competitive and non-competitive games. E.g. for competitive I prefer playing on a certain role thus I filter for groups that has this role open. While in QP I don’t mind playing any role.
- No filter by language. Currently people write the lang in the group name, but many people don’t read the group name. Filter by language should allow to specify multiple languages. E.g. I don’t mind joining both English speaking groups and my native language speaking groups.
- No filter by rating (and you can’t see peoples’ rating most of the time because of private profiles).
- No option for open profile requirement. You may not like it, but many group leaders would kick players with hidden profiles anyway. So why not make it a strict requirement? Save time for both group leaders and players.
- Filter by desired game type shows Any type games. Probably something like “Any besides competitive” should be added. Just “Any” should not be shown when I filter for QP because leader of such group may decide to go competitive.
- Resetting the group (initiating role choosing and marking the group as not ready so it could be visible in LFG browser ) is not obvious and not convenient to use. It should be obvious for leader how to reset the group. Also players that stayed in the group should automatically get the same roles as before. Less clicks!
- If someone leaves during the match searching the search must be automatically cancelled, so incomplete stack would not instantly get in the game if there’s a suitable match for 5-1 or 4-2. People who use LFG usually want to play a full stack.
- The group leader should be able to remove the role enforcement during the match so if someone left the group could adapt.
