WinMTR / Pathping not reaching servers

I wanted to troubleshoot my network because I kept getting the red disconnect icon and then disconnecting shortly after again and again.

However, when I put in the IP-Address for the server and let the test run 2-3 times, I noticed that the furthest I would come was about 5-6 hops and then it would just stop.

I have tried multiple IP-Addresses and multiple training ranges and custom games, all producing the same result.

Hello Ohgodno,

Looking at the WinMTR the main issue in your case seems to be on two nodes the 2nd and the 5th hop:

2nd: 172.18.128.1 0 352 352 8 15 108 10
5th: de-cix-10G.liwest.at 1 344 342 21 46 340 77

In the 2nd node you pass from 4ms (of the 1st) to a 108ms for the Worst ping which is a latency spike (this is the communication between your router and the ISP). In the 5th you go from 132ms (of the 4th) to 340ms which is another latency spike, these are also causing a 1% packet loss in your connection. To sort in this case you will need to contact your ISP and ask them what’s happening. You can send them the WinMTR trace if they request it.
