Wrecking Ball Abilities

I like Hammond he’s a really good stall ball, but there are some inconsistencies I would like redressed:

  • When Doomfist, Reinhard or Brigitte charge into a fortified Orisa, they are all abruptly stopped. Hammond on the other hand can swing right through her.
  • When Doomfist deals ability damage or Sigma’s Kinetic Grasp grabs fire, they create a shield for themselves. However, if the process is stalled (e.g. hooked, charged, etc.) they don’t. Hammond on the other hand has an unhindered ability to create a shield on the fly with no way of preventing it or risk of losing it.

I must give Wrecking Ball a go because he seems really able to solo-stall the payload

On the first point. When the others make contact (bar Rein charge) with others normally they stop at point of contact. So that is why they stop immediately when hitting fortified Orissa. Ball just rolls through no matter what. So it is a consistent animation. (If a little odd if you try to think about things too much (just like everything in this game)).

For the shield, Doom and Sigma are ability driven. For Ball the little guy is just pressing a button in his mech to protect himself. So in theory they are instantaneous shields, so cancelling would look weird.

That’s my rambly logic behind it anyways.
