i was playing a normal comp game with friends who got banned for “cheating”. Which also banned me cuz i was playing with him. But i know for a fact he wasnt cheating, he was playing next to me.
We both love this game and has been playing since OW1 and would never throw our accounts away with all the cosmetics and progress weve made.
There were NO signs of cheating what so ever.
ive appealed many times and still nothing from blizzard.
ive searched on other sites and it has been happening to other people too. I think my friend got mass reported.

Mass reporting doesn’t do anything. Especially for “Cheating” offenses so it won’t be that.
Were they playing on their main account, or playing on a lower ranked one to play with you?
Or, more likely, the anti cheat has picked up some third party software and mistakenly deemed it to be interfering. If that’s the case, spam appeals and hope for the best.
I said mass reporting doesn’t do anything. It just counts matches reported in. So you only need to report a player once.
"As you continue to report, we want to debunk a few misconceptions, and explain why reporting matters and work to take action on those disrupting the experience for other players.
The effectiveness of a report is based on each match in which the disruptive player is reported. This means the report’s impact is the same whether just one or up to nine other players make a report. Players are not likely to be actioned if a group of friends collectively report them unless the reported player is being disruptive across multiple matches and getting reported by different players. Asking other players in chat channels to report a specific player doesn’t help and can make a match experience worse for everyone."
That’s because cheating offences just to the same number of matches reported in over period of time system, then get manually reviewed where necessary.
Mass reporting doesn’t do anything more than a single report.
They are plenty of reports and vids on youtube on people hacking for weeks to a month and they dont get punished even when obviusly getting x9 reported by everyone in the game every game and rage hacking.
This game does not have an automated ban for cheating. Your best odds are to report someone and a GM having a look immediately to get the hacker banned before the game is over.
This game does have a detection I think, but I’ve only ever seen it occur twice.
The match get cancelled with that yellow warning text stating cheats/hacking detected.
