XIM users are ruining console overwtach

Most of my matches tend to have atleast one player using a XIM (allows the use of Mouse and keyboard on console), it’s extremely unfair for controller users either in competitive or QP to have to compete against MnK and it feels like there aren’t any consequences to the use of XIMs, even if it’s clearly a way of cheating

Another reason why queueing pools should be based on input method instead of platform and not allow input changes during matches.

Just refuse to acknowledge commands from a different input device than the one originally chosen mid match.

That way even pc players could fairly play in controller pools and people on consoles could play in the m&k pools if they wished.

But i guess we can only hope.

You clearly have no understanding what XIM is and/or how it works?

XIM is basically a Playstation 4/5 controller; when plugging in your controller, mouse and keyboard into the device and then the device into your Playstation, the XIM translates the input perfectly thus it’s almost impossible to detect wether the player just has a true controller or is using mouse and keyboard. When plugged in, your Playstation sees it as controller.

They programmed that device so well with anti-cheat meassures from games in the last few years, that even the old XIM4 is for almost all games undetecteable. And Blizzard won’t ever spend (more) time on it, because:

  • the device is available for everyone out there to buy and use ($100-200);
  • it does NOT alter the game in any way that you have an advantage over others;
  • many “people with needs” and those who have disabilities are using, for example, the Cronus ZEN for better input, XIM could have same possibilities as well;
  • the input of the device is so accurate that anti-anti-cheat can’t or barely can see the difference.

For those that will claim that Ubisoft/R6 got it working; there were false flags of bans already. They have been undone. And, by doing this “”anti xim/cronus” they removed a huge userbase from their game: those with needs for example. XIM already had another firmware for this. It’s like the game adds a patch, within hours or a day the XIM/Cronus has an anti-patch.

Fact: chances XIM will be banned by Overwatch, Sentinel, Sony, whatever, is less likely than we ever see Free Clean Energy as Nicholas Tesla discovered and designed it before he passed away.

I guess it shows that i don’t play much on consoles.

They’ve said recently they’ve found some “interesting” ways to deal with.

Probably learnt from CoD where they’ve been banning people who use them.
