Zenyatta has killed this game

There are so many broken things in this game. A character who can turn invisible and grief opponents. Ult rates that are utterly off (DVA). Healers designed to be DPS because BLizzard panders to whiners.

But nothing comes close to a SUPPORT hero that can, without moving, kill you from across the map with an ability that leaves key enemies (usually the poor sap playing tank) so vulnerable they might as well be made of tissue. It’s like fighting the Medusa, as soon as Zen sees you, regardless of distance, you die. If you break his los it still takes significant time to wear off.

This has to rank as one of the stupidest design choices in any game ever. They got away with it in 6v6, but as with everything in OW2, 5v5 exposes the game’s massive flaws and Blizzard didn’t address any of it. Instead they created a bunch of new heroes to distract.

How, after 6 seasons, this gaping broken anus of game design persists I will never understand. How on earth does Blzizard get it wrong so frequently and so consistently?

Oh that’s right, fixing things makes zero profit

Behind a shield or a wall the discord orb fades in less than 3 seconds i think.

He can only place discord on you if you’re within 30 meters, which is closer than widow’s 50 meter oneshot distance.

If you dive him on a tank, he will perish in an instant unless he gets peeled for.

If you move predictably enough to get a volley in your face, he outplayed you.

Zen’s damage is balanced by his minimal healing and lack of movement.

3 seconds is still significant.

Zen’s range with the orb is way too long. He needs to be risking himself for the reward that he gets, and it’s for his entire team. Not just himself.

He’s meant to be a supprot hero

He does need to stay within that range too. If he goes outside of that distance then the orb is removed.

You just need to be aware of him and pick him off. Like with many other complaints on this forum the solution is very similar.
Kill the supports first.
Don’t give him space.

And the discord orb is the utility that he brings to table as a support.
He barely manages to heal more than a soldier player, and a roadhog can definitely outheal zenyatta.
The omnic only heals a single target at a time, very slowly. A spam comp can easily outdamage those heals.

Is the next support argument going to be that ana’s anti-nade shouldn’t heal her teammates? (Or affect enemies)
That kiriko’s suzu should only affect herself?
That baptiste’s healing burst/immortality field should only affect himself?
That lucio should only be able to speedboost himself?

There are many things broken in this game, but i would say that the discord orb is not the worst offender.

I understand it’s frustrating, especially when no one’s doing anything about it. But you can still kill a zenyatta pretty easily.
He’s very slow and a pretty squishy little robot boy whose ult no longer undoes all the damage to his team.

A good dps can easily force a zenyatta to switch, not to mention a support with good aim.
An orisa can kill a zenyatta before she’s within discord range. A d’va, doomfist and winston can all dive him and be rid or him.

If your team gives him no space, he is worthless in the match as he’s spending all his time in spawn.

It’s called support for a reason and there are no healers in ow. They can heal, yes, just as a dps has their extra burst or tanks have their defensive abilities. All are supposed to deal damage as it’s an essential part of their kit.

i never have that much problems with zenyatta. but a zenyatta with good aim can do alot of dmg. Luckily i play on console so amazing aim is much harder to get there. But yeah there are times when my enemies team has 3 snipers. But the one actually one shotting me when peaking once is a zenyatta
