Attempting to reconnect error

Hi guys,

I encounter the problem with “Attempting to reconnect” error, only option I have is to “Surrender”.

I know there was a patch released a few weeks ago on this matter, however, I am still experiencing it, sometimes after 5 min in game, or after 30-60 min…

I tried the following:

  • Windows 10 Install, 1 week since install (that kinda rules out Flush DNS or other things), same result as with the “old” Windows 10.
  • Have 3 LAN cables connected to my router, same problem on all of them

To try:

  • another router in place, instead of my own.

Traceroute to 185.60.112.157 and 185.60.112.158 are good, 10 hops, 53ms is the top latency I had.
Traceroute to 185.60.114.159 goes only until => hop 8, 40 ms, be2-pe2-eqpa4.as57976. net [137.221.77.73], timeouts afterwards.

Did some winMTR diag, with the following results:

Can not attach picture, but with et-0-0-2-br02-eqam1.as57976. net I had at the beginning a 100% fail, it showed as “No response from host”. Then it came back…

Went pretty well for most of the test, had some drops, 1-2% on almost all listed traces.

This list goes further, but everything is “No response from host” (22 hops in total, 2 listed above)

Same here. Just installed the game - and it’s completely impossible to play. Inevitably - whether it’s after 3min or 30min - it loses connection and cannot reconnect.

My internet is working just fine.

@dejeuro: You are having 64% packet loss at the very first hop in one of the traces that’s something you need to sort as normally that would be 0% and it does affect your connection going on in the bottom nodes.

The first hop is the communication between your PC and the router in the home network/LAN, so to sort check if you need to update your motherboard/network-card drivers. Also if you are using a WiFi connection please try using the cable instead and make a test. The other issue can be the router you are using in which case you will need to contact your ISP and check with them if you need a firmware upgrade or a replacement.

Also, for everyone, please try the following steps:

I have an issue why cant we play the game off line other then the story line…every time I just play against the computer after 5 or 25 min into the game attempting to reconnect and forces to surrender…I really like this game and want to keep playing some one to break it down how to fix this problem

I have exactly the same issue, I already had 2 Tickets with Blizzard Support for it.
I did all requested, but basicly the outcome was - try another ISP. which is kind of not a solution.
Also my internet connection is working perfectly (I have optical fiber connection), except SC2 and this kind of error, which never recovers, even though all other internet services works just fine during this error.

Basicly what I do not understand - lets say there is ISP issue and connection is lost at some point.
But why SC2 does not reconnect?
If I simply restart the game, it does connect just fine.
So clearly internet connection can not be the issue.
