Today I played SCII Direct Strike and after the match there appeared a tightly dressed blond woman, with a childish Anime like face in an sexual pose as part of some In-App Commercial. I really love SCII. I am a regular player of Direct Strike and was already a fan of SC1. I suppose the add is in place for a longer period alread, but today was the first time I really realized it.
I am very sad, that still, in 2020, women are depicted in a sexualized way and that products I love help to distribute such distorted images of women. The same can be sad of Kerrigan in certain depictions and I just wanted to let you know how appalled I am by such depiction.
Therefore my questions:
- In which way is Blizzard responsible for this add inside Direct Strike?
- Which measure is Blizzard taking to prevent the sexualization of women now and in the future?
Regards
I am sad that in 2020 they still won’t fix Kerrigan’s flat chest in the coop art compared to every other piece of media depicting her. I only noticed it when I saw Nova’s art and was considering how distorted and unnatural her proportions seem. At least Zagara retains her big, soft posterior.

I believe the person you are describing is November Terra, a character that was introduced into Starcraft in around 2005, main character of “Starcraft: Ghost”, periodic character in Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm, one of heroes in Heroes of the Storm, character in many books and comics, and main character in Nova: Covert Ops. Basicly a character in top 5 of being representative from Starcraft.
Creators are allowed to add whatever they want into their maps, including custom sound tracks and character models. I don’t think Blizzard is going to censor their own arts and characters. Also, they officially communicated with Tya (map creator), and Direct Strike is available as Premium Blizzard content, so believe Tya’s actions are approved.
To be honest, I am surprised that as SC fan you don’t know Nova, specially when Wings of Liberty is free to play, but well, that is your decision.
I’d say regarding question number 2, you may consider emailing one of Blizzard’s offices, I doubt anyone can provide you with relevant information here. This is a forum with players mainly.

If you don’t like it, then don’t play the damn game. IF you complain about sexualized females, I suggest you uninstall the game and leave us “incels” enjoy the game.
