When you log in after a long break or your IP address changes frequently then it can happen that our security system locks your account. You then receive an email with a link to change your password and once that is done you can log in again.
If you add an Authenticator or a mobile phone number to your account (or both) then instead of locking your account and sending you an email you will only have to verify that you are the owner of the account with an Authenticator or text message code. So you won’t get locked again in these situations.
