Noob - Build Order Notes

Hi there,

I’m a bit of a noob but i’m eager to become better.

As I noticed the game is all about speed and as a noob it hard to remember my build order especially if i get surprised attack from a Nydus or a stealth unit or just to know how many units are needed at a specific time.

It would be cool if there was a build order tab to see what direction I was planning for maybe something similar to the moba games where it tells you what to get early , mid , late game and what builds into what which helps me remember what my plan was or have an overview of all the unites like build tree or check list. It would make a noobs life easier as macro and micro takes up alot of time as is.

Guess i can always have notes on the side but it would be cooler just to click on the tree item select what to build or if i needed 16 marines, 2 tanks and upgrades it would tell me and show me what i have.

At the moment it all about memory and how many games I play, it really hard to play many games as a noob as every game means everything to us and if we fail one or two the sc2 world is over till watch the pro’s.

It be cool if there was a build order tree tab which could be customized if needed which would assist us to end game.

Quite frankly I agree with this if it was an plain pseudo note sheet that you can expand/collapse.

Being able to write down actions like “Scout” on X minute mark or an checklist of things like “How many workers do you have”, “Consider upgrades” and so on would potentially soften the newcomers learning curve without affecting the game for people who have already memorized just about everything of worth with basic actions.

The only thing id rather not have would be audio/flashing notifications on it, purely an digital note sheet on the side as simple as an piece of paper next to your keyboard would be.

Check out Spawning Tool Build Advisor (you also need the Overwolf App). I think it has what you are looking for…

Thank you MazMan, it does help with builds and to learn what timing attacks one should be aware of.

Though I was hoping for some overview… like for Early, Mid and Late game just something basic like a guide line. Cause if something would go wrong or right one could skip a step.
Though the tool could lead to tunnel vision which then needs to be unlearned once one climbs the ladder and a more creative style is needed to outsmart the player. If the opponent knows your build then you pretty much lost the game.

Guess it would be cool if SC2 had a in game guide just for all the other noobs out there which would grow the game.

Maybe I’ll contact support directly to see what they say but will try your recommendation one should not be critical till one has tried it.

Thank you again.
