Starcraft 2 keeps crashing/freezing every time

Hello,

i have the problem that on my new PC SC2 crashes/freezes every time the game is played. It doesn’t matter in which mode(campaign, 1v1 vs AI, 1v1 vs opponent, it even crashes in the menu and at authentication). Thing is when the crash occurs the PC does not respond to any input whatsoever so a diagnosis is impossible(win button, alt-ctrl-del do nothing). When it crashes the audio begins to stutter and is then caught in a loop and the video stops(all within 2-3 seconds), also the crashes appear at random times – from being in the menu to about 5 seconds up to 20 minutes after playing. Thing is it will crash every time it is started, Game therefore unplayable.
As stated above PC is new with Win11 and all drivers are up to date.

Things i have already tried but to no avail:
play with lowest settings

play in window mode

play offline

deactivate audio playback

compatibility mode set to Windows 7(on my old PC i had with Win7 the game worked perfectly fine)

made the exceptions in the anti virus program
deactivated the ms gaming overlay through regedit

scan and repair and uninstall and reinstall

switched to an older keyboard and mouse(had once a problem where a faulty kb caused some interference)

I know that there are threads with similar problems but none where the solution presented within had an effect on my side

Also posted this on reddit and opened a support ticket but nothing helped so far

So has anyone an idea what else i can do?

Cheers

Same thing is happening to me. My desktop is overpowered for SC2 its always ran fine, same with my laptop. Yet as of the last couple days, my laptop is fine, but my desktop acts like its having a seizure every time I attempt to launch SC2. Mouse and keyboard lock up, monitors glitch out/freeze/ go black (like a resolution change), then eventually SC2 is “loaded” but I cant see it. It’s almost like SC2 is attempting to cycle through different screen resolutions, going from 1024 to 2k then back to my default 1920. Everything is up to date, etc.

What’s odd, is that if I am in the battle net app, without the game running, and attempt to access my profile, it also freezes my system for a few seconds(without the graphical seizure). Yet if I load up WoW it runs fine.

Any updates on this issue?

I just found a solution. 10 hours after I posted… lol. Well, hopefully it’ll work for you as well. Your gpu drivers. I’m not sure about AMD but I run Nvidia, and there was a recent driver update. In the nvidia graphics settings for each game you can optimize graphical presets. Check if SC2 is optimized. If it is “revert” the optimized settings through the nvidia app, and everything is happy again.
