Unfortunately it won’t work. I tried that. I had a previous version on the flashcard. After copying it to my Mac and changing the launch folder to an old patch version it asks for update (Instead of “Start” button you will see “Update” button)

Damn @Casper, I wanted to try it out but could not due to auto-update. I also tried using the PTR launcher but it obviously does not work

What if you copy the _retail folder content from the old version and paste it into the empty _retail folder with the latest patch? I thought of this too late and I don’t have backup enabled so I can’t try it out myself.

@Casper tried it but it does not work apparently even though it was a good idea as they completely removed the launcher

Isn’t the problem that the _retail folder is empty? The launcher is still there?
I just bought the game, and they display that mac user have problems after that. Thats scammy af. Waiting for a refund.

I just changed my region to Asia & the Americas! and the message about mac players disappeared!
any players from either region here? that can confirm that this is not just a EU only problem ?

I had the week off work after a really stressful year. I’ve spent the whole week waiting for this bug to be fixed and haven’t been able to play wc3 at all. It’s my favourite game since it came out and I’m going back to work tomorrow. So so sad.

I have tried to restore the retail folder to just before the update took place and the game now seems to launch.
However, It nows gives me a New Version Available prompt and can’t proceed any further than that.
Does anyone know where Warcraft 3 stores the version data? I want to see if it can be edited manually to trick it to think it’s on the newest version.
Someone has to try something if Blizzard isn’t bothering.
