🎭 GD Chat Room (Part 1)

The weather is very erratic. The humidity is going up and down like it’s on a trampoline, we have sunshine and it is about 10 degrees during the day but still feels like 1 because of a bitter wind chill and sporadic rain. So, the usual. For example this morning I was able to hang some washing on the line but I’ve had to take it in now as the dark clouds are looming, you can -feel- the damp in the air.

I don’t think there is anything we can do to prepare for a heatwave, we need to be like the rest of Europe and have air conditioning everywhere but that simply isn’t going to happen. You’re still going to get foolish people swarming the beach in 30+ degree heat and suffering heatstroke, dehydration and such. I’m just thankful we have small AC units in the house.

AC is the future in Finland aswell, if one can get one to their apartment it really makes a difference in living conditions. Its a choise of sleep in 30C room for 2 month per summer or cool it to something normal like 24C. My every summer from now onwards will be with portable AC in any apartment I rent. I go sauna when I want sit in hot room, I dont want the living area feel like one. Throwing bucket of water on pc and watching smoke rise from it in 30C room larping its turkish sauna

I like Endeavour as I love Roger Allam - probably one of my favourite actors!

God I hated it ended but it did end well, like ran its natural course, and it did run from 2012-2023 so quite long.

I do :joy: valpolicella is on the other side of northern Italy where I’m from! Should you ever want to taste something from my region, you could try a Barbaresco (which can get a bit expensive though) or a Barolo. For lower prices though, I’d go with a Nebbiolo or the most common wine here, Barbera, Arneis if you like white ones

My region is nearer than vandalinos to valpolicella region. From lombardy i could advice to try wines from oltrepo and the mighty franciacorta (short france) - home of many good proseccos.
Last but not the least my preferred wine ever: sfursat from valtellina. Very strong but incredible.

Thanks I have to try some from those, I drink very rarely but now im interested to test some from those. Last I bought something were before winter this spanish red matsu very berrylike and before that on summer the citrusy classic riesling white black tower, cheap stuff

I only drink red … Barolo rings a bell so I may have had that. The others I haven’t heard of as the supermarkets tend to stock the more common wines from each country and it’s quite hard to find anything decent.
And thanks for that link, Tesladin. That sounds a very ‘me’ type of wine

They’re all red aside for Arneis, which is white! I don’t know how stocked the supermarket are where you live, but likely for Barolo and Barbaresco you would need to visit a wine shop, they’re less common (though not impossible to find)
