šŸŽ GD Chat Room (Part 1)

Yeah i quit Morrisons home delivery.

Sick of only working an average of 20 hours a week for peanuts.

Last month I made the princely sum ofā€¦

Ā£835.

And I had to deal with customers.

Now. Im doing a less stressful job, its a lot easier to do the picking than Brakes (no crap headset speaking to you at 100mph and the wifi constantly breaking down so you were screaming REPEAT REPEAT!) I just scan the label, find out how much of what goes on the pallet and finish the pallet. Then a loader either puts it in the racking to be loaded later or loads it right with the forklift.

40 hours a week guaranteed, starting rate of 12:80 going up to 13:50 once Iā€™m trained.

Ive pretty much nailed the hadset for picking apart from the awkward fish through the menus and Ive still to get my forklift ticket, apparently the trainers on holiday this week so from my pov right now I landed lucky this time

You can have Fergus if you want. If you donā€™t mind him chewing everything.

ā€œThis tasty.ā€

Fergus that is a paper plate.

ā€œOK this tastyā€

Fergus that is a cardboard box of coke zero"

ā€œOK this then.ā€

That is a coke zero tin that fell out the hole you chewed.

ā€œYoure no fun. Howsabout this.ā€

God Fergus that is a bottle lid of an IRN BRU Extra. An UNOPENED bottleā€¦ of said beverage.

ā€œCanā€™t I eat anything?ā€

YEAH! Your breakfast you were given 4 hours ago.

ā€œNah.ā€
As I type he has dragged an empty bottle to the top of my landing stairs and I can hear him gnawing on it.

10Ā° here but not raining (briefly).

Thatā€™s the sort of thing they say here when there isnā€™t a guy and the non-existent guy isnā€™t on it. Good luck!

Our loft and building next door is out cold, heatings are with some water circulating system under floors. They will fix it eventually, just have to keep calling so know to prepare, few days without heating could mean inside temps go below 20. Heating is supposed to be part of the rent :dracthyr_tea:

Or as itā€™s also known.

Roadworks.

Close the road for two weeks. Send a 5 man crew to dig a hole in the road.

Wait another two weeks.

Maybe come back and finish what they were doing.

Wait another two weeks.

Oh look. A man looks in the hole.,

Another two weeks.

Hole mysteriously fills in.

Two months later.

Pothole.

If you can manage the physical labour, it sounds pretty good to me. Iā€™d probably love that job if I were able - simple and minimum people dealing. Iā€™d be fabulous at just cataloguing in the back of a museum or something.

My boy dog definitely has Pica. Been a chewer and eater of all things since he was a puppy I am seriously amazed he has not been horrifically ill yet. Heā€™s just gone and nicked a crisp packet the little-

Sounds like where I live. Add that the tarmac edges done over the weekend are already coming away from the kerbs. I give it about 2 weeks before it needs repairing again. I wouldnā€™t mind, but itā€™s my money being used for the council to employ cowboys.
