Final chapter, by the way, feature a character stupidly throwing her life away but failing at it. The only thing that’s different about it is that it’s a woman this time, however the attempt seems to be foiled by a man, and while I’m sure some would see a difference in that detail, I honestly don’t. It’s the trope itself that bothers me.

This story was bad. Literally every single chapter ended with a “heroic sacrifice” with varying motivations and levels of idiocy. 5 times in a row, if you count Dalaran.

Xal’atath is an ancient entity, so technically it does not have a gender, but afaik it has always chosen to take on a female body and voice, thus ending in people seeing it as female.
