The text of the Systems Specifications for Shadowlands was updated a few minutes ago on our Support Site: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/256565

The minimum requirements section for Storage now reads:
Solid State Drive (SSD)
100GB available space
Or
Hard Disk Drive (HDD)
100GB available space (depending on the performance of the drive, player experience may be impacted on HDD)

Please note: the System Requirements for this game may change over time.

Lol I bought 256 ssd and barely installed it on my own just for SL and now…
Oh well it’s still kinda nice to load faster

Not the whole xpac will be 100 gb.

The whole game folder will be around 100 gb at the end of the expansion. Patch 9.3 or equal.

Current wow folder is already 70 gigs or so.

I had hdd before, that’s what I mean

I mean it is better to have an SSD. With an HDD not only loading times will be longer you might also experience the game not being fully loaded after the loading screen and have to wait for models and stuff to be rendered.
