Wasnât this the same issue that occurred a few weeks/months ago? On that day, I recall having no problems and thinking the world was quite quiet in terms of people and only discovered there was a problem when I logged out. If I recall right, that was also on a maintenance day. This morning I was playing without any problem and when I logged tried to exit the game it took ages (many minutes). I didnât think much of it at the time, but maybe the issue had already started even then

9/10 times these issues are on maintenance day when it all works fine the day before

Yeah my spouse is playing right now next to me and itâs the same, hardly any other people showing up. Thereâs a bit of lag but itâs playable.

Not sure why Blizzard handles these kind of issues as if they were absolutely top secret since the beginning of WoW. They donât give us any clue what is happening for hours⌠Why is it a confidential information if the problem is related to a DDoS attack or if some login servers broke due to a letâs say electricity outage in the server room⌠They wouldnât tell us anything specific but still, itâs something for the people while waitingâŚ
Would be a better handling and cause much less frustration.

all realms i tried (doomhammer, stormscale, ragnaros) and all areas my chars are in (valdrakken, orgrimmar, waking shores, oribos) seems down. i get either the generic connection error WOW51900319 or âWorld Server Downâ message when it fails.
when i change realm, it cannot find my characters, so i have to manually search the realms, then they do show up. each time connection failure happens on the same place in loading, around 90%. wow game logs show no issues that i can tell. (no errors in any of them)

Yes its the exact same thing or atleast it feels identical wich makes me think that its an easy fix and they just need to get the right person to work and fix it wake him up and all that, im no techpro but we have had this issue alot where those that been online for some time remain online while others cant log in
Thats what we are afraid of ⌠You lookied into it tonight, and we all now see the result⌠lags, disconnections and unable to login at all.
Welp, time to level a char on US until this is fixed 
And if they were not âtop secretâ - would that change anything? - Absolutely not. Players will have to wait as much as it is required to get the issue be fixed. 
Pretty obvious how 99% of you clearly have no clue how networking, servers and the debugging process works. Talking with such high confidence and such low ability, might as well put in a job application for Blizzards networking engineers.
Network issues happen even to the best companies (not just in gaming) - it could be totally unrelated from power outages, to (as weâve seen in Frankfurt a couple of years ago) datacenters burning down, to single invalid config line a single nginx config file.
Likely whatâs happening at Blizzard right now, is code red emergency state where every single person is being called from their vacation trying to fix this. Maybe be useful and if youâre not giving an update and just here to cry like a child, donât post and keep the thread clear so people can actually follow up on whatâs happening instead of reading 350 âblizz is bad i cry life sadâ.
And likely weâre getting not a lot of updates from Blizzard because itâs new years and most of them are on vacation, theyâre also people.
