20th Anniversary Celebration Update Notes

Yeah I doubt so aswell

This is mostly due to “Strength of Conviction” talent being removed.

It gave a 10/20% buff to initial dmg of SotR and WoG.

But it required you to be standing in YOUR consecration.

But then again, you could only put down consecration by using a blade of justice, which requires a two-hander.

And SotR requires a shield… see where we are going?

You would have to put down a consecration with a two-hander and then switch to a 1h/shield combo to even benefit from this talent, and that would require you to be stationary since you would be losing the bonus as soon as you move from the consecration, no 4 sec grace period that protection gets.

And that sucks big time, at least if you ask me.

Also, if you did read a bit further (this is in no way meant to cause any hurt feelings or anything, it just gets clarified down the road a bit), you would notice the line saying: “Developer’s note: We’re moving some power back into Word of Glory and Shield of the Righteous baseline with the removal of the Strength of Conviction talent.”

Should have been made baseline a long time ago (around the time when Consecrated Blade got turned into a passive) if you ask me, since the amount of juggling around made it pretty much a dead talent.

On the other hand, it means retribution gets a WoG nerf, since no matter what you do, you will never be able to acquire that sweet 20% bonus anymore.

Sooo … We don’t talk about the vicious saddle problem uh ? Wins in Rated PvP have not been counting since xpac launched.

What doesnt make sense is:
Retribution
Damage increased by 6%.

They were waiting for the change to be cost-effective before implementing it.

After reading the changes to very class, why was I surprised that Priest has literally 4 lines. Come on Blizzard, if you raid/mythic + we are forced to take Archon Talents because Void weaver is 10% behind in some cases in DPS. We still lose out on big pulls, sure we catch up if stuff lives long enough but 9/10 it doesn’t. To be honest this is less about DPS but more about the fact that Blizzard seem to plain ignore Shadow priests.

How does the cost of this change differ between now and DF?

Doesn’t feel like a celebration if you play warrior, what a joke

Thanks for the explanation. Is there an advantage to switch between 2h the 1h + shield combo in normal gameplay? Or is it mainly a niche thing that can make a big difference in certain situations but isn’t generally worth using? I ask as a casual player who doesn’t do end-game (other than Delves, if that counts).

Survivability I reckon, doesn’t Shield of the Righteous increase armor ?

Nice dh pvp changes/buffs :joy:

Huh? No its not? Im not denying shadow needs a little help but their Hero Talents are very balanced, with Voidweaver even edging Archon in some dungeons.

That’s SOME changes lol. Now I have no idea how Balance druid will playe after patch anymore, the list is sooo long. Oh well, we’ll see.

I love that one. Gives one more giant single target heal. When you need it. For free, as in no mana. Hits two birds with one stone.

Also, for anyone that missed it in that GIANT WALL OF TEXT, to me, this is the best change of them all and should’ve been at the top of the post :

Reagents stored in the Warband bank can now be used to fill all types of crafting orders.

So now I can store all my mats from all my characters in the warbank and free up bag space across the board. Also stuff the random mats you get from crafting satchels in there, instead of selling them off like I do now. Because then any other character of mine can use them to craft.

Either in terms of “I can now spare one developer to fix this since there is no more pressing issue at the moment where I can use them”, or they look at data of how much people keep running old content solo compared to previous months, and they see it drops off recently, so they “fix” it now to increase engagement.

4 nerfs in a row to damage while not having utility like CR, Lust etc. yet other specs get to just be broken entire seasons. Balancing in this game is horrendous.

What’s with the middle finger to Visage forms for Evokers? I’m not buying the “emphasizing draconic nature” bs. If I want to emphasize anything there’s a button for it. You made the button. Three ice lasers that autotarget and shoot into 3 different enemies is not emphasizing anything even remotely close to a draconic nature. It emphasizes being lazy and moving the laser “starting” point from the characters mouth to a weapon would take a whole minute. Also on that point why do Evokers even have a weapon slot? To be a cringe class even more on the visual part? When does my Evoker use his staff?

Repeat after me “i will never use 4 set as ret”.
8% dmg for 8 sec trade for alot of mastery is not ok.
We lose 4% mastery which not only boost our ability’s damage but also our judg Proc another attack and the dmg of that attack.
Lets not forget that our 4 tier set us nerfed from 8% to 4% in PvP.
