Bag definitely DON’T have high drop rate. That some people get lucky to get bag soon is not argument that drop rate is solid.
That way I can argue that bag drop rate is lower them that for mog drops as out of ~10 kills I got 5 mog drops and no Bag. And boy was it irritating to get 3rd identical Mail Helm on same char instead of single bag.
This spawn mechanic would be fine if it was just regular content, BUT with short time event like this it highly increase chanche of unlucky people. And those unlucky simply don’t have reason to be happy about it.
Thats why I would add Bag to vendor for larger number of Commendation. To give unlucky ones chance to at least grind it.
ONLY people who are arguing its fine now are those who already got Bag or don’t care about it at all.

I don’t know where you put the threshold for HIGH droprate, but it certainly is not LOW droprate either.
Can I ask can you only get one bag per character and that’s it or could the same character get it more than once?

my goal to collect it on the 12 characters (one of very class) doesn’t seem assured !
I can understand the need of is bag for the main or one alt, but why do you need it on 12 char ?
Today in group there was a guy who barely sleep this past 3 days just to farm rare in icecrown

I don’t know where you put the threshold for HIGH droprate, but it certainly is not LOW droprate either.
That would be high droprate in normal situation.
However for limited time event and combined with this being such Unique item anything what don’t drop in 10 kills is extremely LOW droprate.
During limited onetime event you DON’T judge droprates by lucky ones which dropped, BUT by UNLUCKY ones who didn’t get drop.
It would be fine droprate:
- if it was something much longe term
- if it would repeat like holidays
- if it spawned more often and just was daily loot (like regular Rares)

that would reduce the number of possible attempts, i’d rather have it spawn as it does now, at regular, known intervals, so players can just log in a couple minutes and kill it multiple times a day.
It spawns often enough that no matter the schedules, almost everyone that has the time to play wow, has at least 1 window of time daily to take 5 minutes, log in, and attempt a kill, possibly more in the weekends, so limiting the loot to 1/day would be detrimental in my opinion.
but i agree on your general point, maybe someone in this couple of weeks is particularly busy and has very few chances to log in, and despite doing the event, didn’t kill that rare enough times to drop the bag, and that sucks.
Personally I’m surprised it’s not just a quest reward, that would give everyone partecipating in the event a 34 slot bag for every toon they bothered to do it on, I would have rather done it this way if i were to choose.
Tailors in SL can make 32 slot bags and they also drop from a raid boss. The effort people are going to for these 2 extra spaces is crazy to me.
Same, I don’t really feel that bag space matter much if you got 4x30 its more than enough my bags are never full and if they ever get to the point they are I always have my Tundra mount to sell crap or mailbox to send stuff to alts.
ate, for a boss that can be killed 3 times a day for 2 weeks, ofc very few players will get one for each alt, but in the end, getting one at least for your main should not be hard: we know where and when it spawns, park your main there, set your alarm and log in for the kill.
also in the last expansions they extended the professions in later patches adding new recipes, I’m fairly positive we’ll get 34 bag recipes sooner or later.
For many people its just 1 kill a day… I hope you kbow that, right?..

That is not true. Shorter time span allows me to kill him 2 times on a 5 day work schedule where as it lets me kill him… one time… and dont think I will specifically launch a game for a rare that possible drop a bag over the weekends when I have responsibillitys.

Anyone who acctually farms alot of dungeans for smogs and what not will end ujp with full bags at 30 slot per peace… It doesnt matter if you ‘can’ get your tundra out. Unless that mount costs less then 100, not everyone will have that mount eather.

It would decrease number of chance only for people who play less then 3-4 chars. For anyone who play more it would increase number of kills significantly.
As for having it as quest reward they likely felt it would be too easy.
However putting it ALSO on vendor for 100 or 150 Commendations would solved situation neatly - not like there is that much thing to buy from event
I’m sure there is someone that due to particular schedules can not attempt more than once a day or not even daily, and would even kill the specific rare more if it was just a daily thing doable at any moment, I didn’t imply there wasn’t, but you have to take in consideration the distribution of attempts across the playerbase, limiting it to once a day would likely end in more players without the bag.
the daily limit would be detrimental for all categories of play schedules, except for a very specific one, without numbers at hand is of course impossible to demonstrate it.
I already answered about the lack of profession 34 slots bags in SL, new recipes might be added in the future, as they have done in the last expansions.
If they have officially stated that there would be no bigger bags in the future then i was not aware of that.
whoever likes to farm old dungeons/raids till his bags explode, most likely already has a vendor mount, or constantly has full bags and already trashes alot of stuff, to the point where better bag management/buying a vendor mount would be much more impactful than having just 2 more slots.
at the end of the day those 2 slots will not make any difference for anyone, in the most dire situation you can just trash the 2 mot cheap things in your bags. It’s just a nice thing to have.

Thinking about it, with a quest people would probably have simply grinded the quest on all their alts and be done with it, this way they added smething unique to the rare farming carousel, pushing people to log more due to the uncertainty of the drop.
I too was a bit disappointed by the lack of stuff buyable from the event maybe a bag for sale for X commendation would have been the better idea.

Yeah no.
Missing the point entirely I was making.
I got more stuff to do then camp alt leveling and waiting for a mob to spawn.
the good thing about being timed is that you don’t need to camp or wait, you can do other stuff, particularly if you just need specific rares. (ie the bag one)
I am for example leveling/gearing new alts and just keep a specific toon at the bag boss location, when the time is right i log that toon, kill the boss, If i drop the bag i change toon at the boss location, and go back to the leveling alt, it’s no effort at all.
I’m not sure if people are managing to catch a boss spawn on multiple alts on different shards, I don’t know if that’s even possible due to how fast they die, maybe during the night…
Last time the rare spawned it lagged so bad I didn’t even get an instant-cast on him. No loot for me. Honestly, that bag isn’t worth the anger something like that causes. Totally unjustified nerdrage.
