This is a little sad tbh.

We’re used to the Expansion Reveal, and then straight into the deep dives.

This time we get the reveal, then have to wait 2 days before anything.

Really sucks Blizz.

Bit worse even: On wednesday we get the trailer during the Gamescom opening ceremony.
Then we have to wait a day for actual information on ‘Zones, Quests, and Story’
And then another day of waiting for information on ’ the Features of Midnight’.

They’re even timegating expansion reveals now.
Whyyyy

Yeh, this really isn’t what the audience wants.

Most WoW players are far too addicted to WoW to care about any of the other games that are going to be announced during this event.

Wellllll, can’t speak for others, but it’s not about being addicted.
It’s just that my taste in games in very limited.

I couldn’t care less about a lot of genres in general (sports games, first person shooters, souls like, platformers, racing, etc). I like specific types of games and only a small percentage of the reveals and announcements at Gamescom are going to pertain to those.

If they’re going to announce the next Life Is Strange game for instance, I’m interested.

Anyway… That’s not the issue here.
The issue is spreading out the info over 4 days. :weary:

EDIT: 3 days. I had a brainfart.

So we don’t get to see Holly and Ion talk about “Midnight” straight after the cinematic reveal? That is sad. :frowning:

That is very much the issue. And I have a feel that it’s going to be an issue that they will feel.

I am NOT defending this decision whatsoever, but it’s possible they want us to…digest the Midnight trailer, have lots of discussions about it aka argue, talk, threaten, be horrible to each other, you know the drill…and then they’ll go into more stuff later on.

…After we’ve all insulted each other and been disgraceful adults that is.

Hah! Had a good giggle, ain’t that true!

I plan to insult everyone politely. I shall be ready with my pitchfork and all.

Given how much time-gating we see in the game itself, are you really surprised they’re time-gating the game reveal?

It would be nice for a change for them to not give to much info and ban sites like wowhead and others from datamining so we can actually explore and have a surprise when we play.
Atm we get to much info and i think we are far to spoilt.

Fully agree, I always try to go in as blind as possible with a new expansion, but it’s getting progressively harder.

That said, withholding info would be bad business for Tubers and streamers, Blizzard’s unpaid marketing team.

And we wouldn’t want that now, would we, Phil Spencer? :smirk:

Nah, I suspect its most likely because Gamescon is a much larger event aimed at a much larger audience, and World of Warcraft is a much smaller fish there compared to what it is when it’s at Blizzcon.

Gamescon is being used to advertise a much wider variety of new games. Where as Blizzcon is more about Wow or Diablo releases.

So fighting for prime time is a bit hard.

They probably didn’t get enough time at once.

Well if they only had there own convention…

I’m so fed up of that I am just going to play the beta as my launch and then zoot through when it comes out. I excel at repeating things so why not? I will actually find things by myself rather than by accident if I do that. Sad isn’t it?

To be fair it says we can find out more on the website and I would rather read than listen to someone try to do a big speech.

Great idea!

They could call it WoWcon, or Blizzcon or something.

To be fair, if you have ever checked the websites after an expansion announcement, it doesn’t really tell you anything.

I truly miss BlizzCon … :frowning:

Same. But I heard blizzcon will back next year 2026.

I unsure it same time for EU? Or 20 Aug?
