Prepare for broken records and crowned champions —MDI Season 3 is here!
No one cares
Noone cares about your new MDI. Total crap format.
Bring back old MDI and the the competition and thrills.
Sorry but i care
No you don’t
Nobody cares.
Especially after 11 weeks of ZERO tuning you guys lost ALL respect for whatever junk you make.
You guys should feel ashamed. And disgusted.
Do your jobs and do weekly tuning. Instead of an event nobody cares about.
Old MDI is literally worse.
There has been… a lot of tuning in TWW?
It may not be perfect, but a lot of tuning happened. Which bit do you feel was ignored?
I’ve said this for years but you need to change the format.
All that happens now is teams spend hundreds of hours on TR perfecting every last pull.
Give random affixes / whatevers that they can’t plan for before hand and have to adapt to on the fly. They can make risk reward calls as they go that will hopefully make for exciting “races”.
Atm its just an exhibition where the few no life polished teams that sweated the PTR come out on top.
It’s old and stale and you need to be courageous and make it better.
I agree it feels pretty boring now .
The TLDR is: (1) Over time in M+ progress stalls and (2) the meta consolidates.
ONE: Dont get me wrong. I get M+ is an infinitely scalable system, but Raids for example have a % aura buff to prevent people’s progress from stalling, and PvP has MMR inflation. WHY? If progress stalls, people quit. Same should exist for M+, but it dosent.
TWO: As for the meta, there will always be a meta. However, overtime this meta consolidates and begins to trickle down. This is what I want to address. The trickling down.
People will naturally stop playing as the season progresses. Thats OK. But the off-meta specs will stop first. By the end of the season you only have meta specs left.
For those that remain, its annoying to be honest.
And that is why I advocate for weekly tuning. No reworks. Just small % aura buffs here and there. 1% here. 2% there… stuff like that…
A final note:
In prior seasons, we saw crazy OP classes. For example: DH with double sygil. Oracle Priest with crazy shields (to name the most recent ones).
They took a whole season to address that. That should have been addressed immediately. And coincidentally, there is 1 tuning patch before the MDI. Nothing during the MDI. And a tuning patch after the MDI. Since SL atleast.
That is suspicious. And I dont like it.

To be honest, I do think that Blizzard should tune based on representation as much as actual performance. They tend to only see performance in raids, but for M+ you are correct that what we get is like 80% VDH and 90% disc priest - at least, with regards to high keys.
In the 10-12 range where I sincerely believe the vast bulk of WoW players exist, there’s a good variety. Anyone can tank their weekly vault, anyone can heal it, anyone can dps it. Buuuut… it does seem that when people rock up on their 5th alt of the season, it tends to be one of the meta specs that emerged over the time. Nobody spins up the least popular spec as a mid-season alt.
So I do wonder what would happen if every week the most represented specs for every role got a 2% numbers nerf while the least represented got a 2% buff. There is a point at which a clunky and awkward rotation stops being un-fun because it just plain does numbers. Players would 100% forgive a ‘bad’ spec if it was at least performing in the top 20%.
Esports suck donkey dick.
pretty poor timing
with Remix no1 is playing retail to care for MDI
- people are playing the Fellowship game thats basically m+
