Honor Gear Cost Adjustments Incoming

We’ve reviewed the rate of Honor acquisition and decided to make some adjustments to the costs of PvP gear to help players acquire it faster.

We’re going to do these cost changes via hotfix in the next day or so, and until then, we suggest you hold onto your Honor.

Thank you very much for all of your feedback on this.

Any chance the mark requirement could be removed as well? Nobody doing WSG anymore

Any chance the difference in honor can be refunded?

It feels like we wasted honor here.

These almost daily changes of opinion are honestly giving me a headache.
First there’s no boost for Paladins and Shamans — then there is.
First PvP ranking is gone — then it’s back.
First prices are adjusted because they were “too low back then” — and now… apparently not anymore.

Of course, I bought my items before this announcement, so I’m feeling pretty screwed over right now. I really hope there will be a refund of the price difference, otherwise this was yet another great move.

There has to be some sort of refund for the people who already bought gear. Absolutely insane the indecision in the WoW team right now.

At this point, we might as well all log out until a week before the TBC release and then log back in, smiling, just to watch all the sudden changes of heart from the dev team.

Hello i’ve just spend over 16k Honor already.
And i can’t refund the items anymore.

Will i get compensated or at least get the missed honor back or am i just screwed cause i thought it was ok to buy stuff with my honor but now i’ve apperently screwed myself over into a even longer farm?

Please reply.

Speaking of PvP adjustments, what happened to the healer/caster shield “High Warlord’s Barricade”? I havent been able to find it at any vendor nor atlasloot.

why is info like that being posted at 3AM ? I already bought some gear ,and now youre saying that I just lost time for nothing?

Yeah idk guys i spend a ton of honor on stuff now either make it so cheap now that noone will care or refund the folks… this is kinda stupid, last tbc release we had super inflated honor and this time we just get screwed for playing a lot

Getting shafted by these sorts of things unfortunately happen. I remember when the world went down and i lost all my currency in the Shadowlands and when i made a ticket the response from game masters was essentially tough. That’s the way it goes unless you’re part of a streamer guild only then will the rules be changed for you.

Who remembers the wotlk launch aswell for all those who were quick to level 80 jumping into Wintergrasp where they were receiving massively inflated honor to the point that they were fully geared within a day. They were allowed to keep all of that gear and the rest of us got left out. It’s the way the game and life in general goes.

In the grand scheme of things though it’s not like you or anybody else will miss out on what you want. You all still have massive amounts of time to get geared up through pvp and it’s better this change happens now instead of 5 days down the line. I wasted my time today aswell waking up early on my day off only to sit here twiddling my thumbs for 14 hours waiting for the boost to start working.

Wow, i cant believe this is happening to me right now. I just spent all my hard earned honor (40k) on items and now i see this post ruining my night. I took days off work for this grind, i told my wife and 4 kids that i cant spend time with them in the next week and a half for the hardest grind that stood before me.

I feel disheartened and betrayed by this change of heart. Please either make it so cheap that it doesnt matter to those brave soldiers of the horde that it doesnt matter we wasted a full day of honor on this.

Lok’tar ogar brave fighters of the Horde and keep fighting the good fight anyway.

I mean, everywhere else got the news at a reasonable time because of time zones. It was only the EU that spent an entire day farming, just to be told afterward that we should’ve held onto our honour. What can we do? I spent 16k, and I know there are people who spent a lot more. There won’t be any refund or compensation, so all we can really do is be thankful it’s being reduced at all.

doesnt change the fact that me and tons of other players wasted their time today grinding honor, because blizzard didnt bother to post that info earlier for EU.
of course there wont be any compensation. I actually think the prices are ok as they are right now, I mean these are iconic sets that people had to grind for months and now everyone will be able to buy them after grinding few PvE AV’s

The frustration of failure is also what makes success feel rewarding. Progression is meant to be earned. Getting gear step by step through the effort you put in is what gives value and flavor to the experience. In my opinion, having everything instantly only cheapens it.

An MMORPG where everything is instant is no longer an MMORPG , it’s just a loot lobby.

Regarding PvP gear, some players have already bought two or three pieces in … a single day.
There are three weeks of pre-patch ahead, there is time. Costs were already low enough, and with further reductions, everyone will be fully geared in a couple of days. This is exactly the kind of design that turns people away from retail and is why hundreds of thousands of players are drawn to older expansions instead.

Let’s hope this kind of “free gear” approach doesn’t end up ruining the TBC experience as well.

It’s pre-patch, it’s literally a game mode to get free gear and be ready for the expansion ahead. They want people to be ready for outland, and also enjoy raids over the next few weeks on their newly boosted characters thanks to the r14 items.

In what world has classic anniv - to date - been “give out free items?” It takes like 3 months to farm r14 under normal circumstances. Again, it’s a pre-patch, where new and returning players are given the ability to gear up in preparation for the new content ahead.

This is true. It also steps on the hard work of others who got further in anniversary than others. I myself just dinged 60 on my first anniversary character a few days ago. I do not think it is fair for me and others like me to gain free what others worked hard for.

It also trivialize the content in Outland, especially the dungeons and loot there, which is mostly trash now.
