As we previously indicated, soon after launching the Burning Crusade pre-expansion patch, we could see that PvP needed an additional increase in rate of gearing. Since some players have already purchased gear, we decided to make the following changes:
The current active increase to Honor gains is now 150% (was 100%).
Added level 51-60 versions of the “For Great Honor” (Horde) and “Concerted Effort” (Alliance) quests.
These quests award 400 honor (at level 60) when handed in, as well as experience for players from levels 51-59. Please note that lower-level characters receive less Honor than higher-level characters, with the Honor reward increasing at each level. When the Dark Portal opens, these quests will no longer be available, and the level 61-70 versions of these quests will become available.
The changes above are now live on all Burning Crusade realms.
So instead of cutting the prices as advertised you increased the honor gains, so everyone who farmed PvP today saving their honor thinking they were going to get a better deal got screwed out of 50% of their honor.
Additionally, increasing honor gains by 50% additively still leaves the grind relative to the item cost and prepatch duration to be entirely unreasonable. Why make an announcement and then not deliver on the promise? Just reduce the cost, farming a set within the prepatch is like a job and it’s only catchup gear.
We needed incentive to farm lvl60 gear, not incentive to save instead for the lvl70 gear.
You didn’t reply directly to my post on the original thread yesterday but it seems you’ve read it.
Thanks i think this is the best solution for the situation that was created.
Now if we could just get that 50% Joyous Journey xp buff active only during pre-patch that would be great
so we get a 33% buff. that is legit the worst possible “fix” you could have made. i dont think the people who bought gear cared if the other items got cheaper… just wanted to do the lazy fix
Are you making fun of us??? I’ve been farming honor non-stop for 2 days, and I’ve been buying 3 items a day. I’m completely shocked by your post about making items cheaper, and I’m wondering why I bought them. Then today, I spent a whole day farming honor and not spending it, and now you’re saying that honor is increasing??? Have you found any clowns here?
Well they locked all threads regarding the item price and then they post this thread with no mention of it, which is a very clear sweep under the rug tactic. So yeah I think it seems clear that they intend to not drop the prices as promised.
So it took the devs 24h to come up with increasing the honorbuff to 150% and letting us turn in 1 of each mark without needing eots. Just say u couldnt change vendor values cause the 1 dev able to code is on vacation
Could have very easily kept it vague and said something along the lines of “we are looking at options to make PvP gearing quicker” instead of implying a price decrease by saying “hold onto your honor” if you hadn’t made your minds up on it yet. Some people were mad before but a lot of people were happy at the idea of a price decrease, now no one is happy.
