Devourer Updates Incoming - 29 January

Now that we’ve got a few days of live player data to work from, we’re looking to reduce the frequency that Devourers need to cast multiple consecutive Consumes, while also adding significantly more power into Reap to ensure it’s a consistent moment of high damage and fits logically into your rotation.

Will deploy the following hotfixes to the live game as soon as they’re ready (in the next 24 hours or so):

Classes

Demon Hunter

  • Devourer
    • Consume now generates 1 additional Soul Fragment.
    • Shattered Souls now has a 4% chance to cause a damaging spell to generate a Soul Fragment (was 8%).
    • While in combat, Entropy now grants you a Soul Fragment every 12 seconds (was 8 seconds).
    • Waste Not now causes Void Ray to have a 200% increased chance of generating a Soul Fragment (was 100%).
    • Reap damage increased by 75%. Does not affect PvP combat.
    • Consume damage reduced by 30%. Does not affect PvP combat.
    • Fixed an issue causing Devourer Demon Hunters to sometimes switch to an incorrect voice during Void Metamorphosis.

We hope that these changes will also help provide clearer direction to players who are learning and leveling Devourer Demon Hunters.

I would love if you guys could take another look at the devourer spec spell icons, right now they kind of all blend in with the others and it makes it hard to recognize the icons at a glance. They are all so blue and all look so similiar so in combat I often tell them apart fast enough. ;D

I think the utility spells like Shift, Void Nova and Disrupt could maybe be colored differently(dark grey or greenish since they are original demon hunter spells, I think that would be fine)

I would also love to be able see Consume in the cooldown manager, since im used to seeing all my rotational buttons in the middle of my screen. Also could you add cooldown manager audio/visual alerts to Void Ray? That too is kind of hard to sometimes tell when its available to cast without double checking your fury(the desaturation of the icon is so low its very hard to tell when its castable).

Of course these things are not very high priority and should only be secondary things to the gameplay itself and would not want it any other way.

While it’s nice and all the attention you guys are giving the new spec, but can we please put demon bite back? Having it as a decision ain’t hurting anyone and people that enjoy the lovely filler animation can also benefit from it. Please put it back!

Please check the Damage of Throw Glaive and Vengeful Retreat for some reason they deal 127 dmg while the consume does 2000 - 5000 dmg. It seems like a huge oversight for Devourer DH cleave dmg. Unless its just a no dmg tagging option for a range dps spec?

bottom right on the devourer tree, after void ray your reap becomes an aoe. you almost go from one void ray straight into the next with a massive aoe attack in between, throw glaive is not needed

These changes are not enough. We need one more attack utility that is not under some cool down as many are know . Devourer is not fun to play as all the time wait you can actually do some harm. With havoc I always have something useful to do. I think you really do rework this class! This one is a big failure compared to havoc

PLEASE make it so we dont loose all soul stacks when we cast the bomb and then get interrupted or displaced…
