The week of 4 February, with scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, we will remove temporary power increases that were made to some specs at the beginning of MoP Classic. This is a necessary step before we move to the next MoP patch, “Escalation”.
These changes only affect servers where the Throne of Thunder is active, and do not impact PvP.
Classes
Mage
Fire
Reverted the 15% increase to Pyroblast.
Combustion now provides an additional 20% of Ignite damage on the target (was 50%).
Warlock
Demonology
Reverted the 25% increase to Doom.
Reverted the 10% increase to Soul Fire.
Affliction
Reverted the 10% increase to Malefic Grasp’s DoT.
Reverted the 15% increase to Malefic Grasp’s damage.
Reverted the 20% incrase to Drain Soul’s DoT.
Reverted the 20% increase to Drain Soul’s DoT.
Hunter
Ranged attack power from the Legendary Meta Gem Capacitive Primal Diamond increased by 100%.
Developers’ notes: This adjustment is a separate tuning effort that applies to all Hunter specs.
Why would you do this in the middle of the phase? screwing up all the parsing / speed running in wowlogs? Ofc it was expected before SOO, but doing it now seems just dumb.
“This is a necessary step before we move to the next MoP patch, “Escalation”.”
It has nothing to do with Escalation patch
Maybe focus more on fixing bosses so they do what they are supposed to do … half of the bosses is bugged and easy.
I know that ‘we’, meaning MoP players, are viewed more like a little brother to retail. A very special brother, with very special needs and peculiar hobbies, who needs to be indulged but preferably ignored. But many of us here enjoy this version of the game only. Meaning we pay monthly to ‘enjoy’ this version of the game, don’t play retail and Mists of Pandaria is not only a temporary, seasonal fancy we log into once in a while. With alternative options of enjoying this expansion now off the table, we are now bound to pay for the unsatisfactory service. With all that loud talk about The Community, you are, quite frankly, not giving too many frogs about us.
Nothing says we properly thought about changes than just reverting them in under 24h. Maybe we first review it and run the numbers, instead of waiting for community backlash after people on the class discords did the math for you guys.
This is a necessary step before we move to the next MoP patch, “Escalation”
But why? What happens in Phase 4 which makes this necessary? We only get the Epic Cloak and that is it. We dont get any other new Gear. No new Tier Set. No new Raid Bosses. No other Changes to the classes. Or anything which would make these Changes relevant other than random nerfing mid Raid
yeah it is enough even after keeping pyro dmg, fire is now lowest mage spec and far below warlocks, moonkins … and mastery fire is absolutely dead, so guilds feeding mages mastery gear and Lei Shen trinkets can start over, getting other gear … midphase … /applaud
i dont think so they just keep talking and doing stupid stuff like this and after this they feels like nobody cant say we not doing anything even this bull***** is counted as something
shockingly out of touch. Instead of completely ruining fire mage, maybe you need to target the root cause of this problem, which is lei shen trinket. I personally despise mastery fire build, hence I played in crit fire and was waiting for the nerf, but I forgot blizzard is the company of simple solutions.
I don’t understand why you’re annoying classes and destroying a spec instead of fixing the problem at its root. The problem here is the Lei Shen trinket. 100% critical strike chance for 4 seconds. This leads to ignoring the critical strike chance of a fire mage and instead promoting mastery for combustion. So, because of poor item design, you’re destroying a viable spec and the fun of the game instead of fixing the root cause of the problem. Sounds like “we found something fun and we don’t want that.”
